If per room sharing with another 1 more person, i wouldn't mind at all.
Moreover, how are you going to get a room in 2 weeks? Believe me, it is going to be tough for you. Find and move, I tried and get everything done for 3 weeks, it is real suffering.

nope i don't think there is such thing as 60k per annum...it is stated there..but it is loosely implemented.

u can apply if u have at least 30k per annum....just that ur credit limit will be lower... smile.gif

heard that Singapore industries are affected by economy crisis recently and quite a lot of companies dismissed their staff to lower down their costs.

The credit crisis looks like it's may have been averted by the concerted action by central banks worldwide. But then, more and more govts are coming out to guarantee bank deposits.. trying to send a message of stability but at the same time hinting that local retail banks are actually becoming increasingly unstable.

The recession, in Singapore and elsewhere in the world, has already begun. Today's drop in the markets are not due to the credit crisis, but the simple fact that the more than a trillion $ injected into the financial system does not change the fact that the world is in a deepening recession and demand destruction is increasing in severity.

Singapore will be no exception. The stock mkt's already affected badly, the job market will be affected soon as investments dry up and companies simply refuse to spend (my company has banned all travel, entertainment, new expats, relocations, hiring and promotions until further notice. Next year's budget is -8% of this year's actual). After the job market softens, the housing market will follow suit as less people buy property and more people are unable to service their loans.

If you have money... keep it and prepare to invest as the market bottoms (don't know when though). If you have no money, now is the time to keep your head down and work hard so that if retrenchment comes, they'll fire someone else instead of you because you're the better performer.

Yes, you can bring it over ... and there are no fines/charges for such item.
Custom officers are mainly looking for liquors and cigarettes.
