what kind of degree are u holding?  <$1.5k is quite low for a degree holder.

can check out www.ica.gov.sg for more info on the requirement for EP/S Pass, etc
hth:)
*
Erm. For E/S Pass, he should refer to MOM, not ICA. biggrin.gif
ICA all regarding about immigration, PR, etc.

QUOTE(One74 @ Sep 19 2008, 01:36 AM)
yeah i think 1.5k is low for a degree holder....should be getting at least 2k above for a degree holder...

last from what i heard to get a S pass you have to earn at least 2.5k or 3.5k.....cannot remember which ones coz mine was done by the company....

nowadays Tuas also jam loo everyday...weekend worst....
*
S pass requirement min is $1800
E pass requirement min is $2500

I am degree holder, on probation period now at $1850. sad.gif

Tuas jam, but not as bad during the period of mas selamat. Now the jam is still consider okay, less than 30 min you can clear already. And it is much better than Woodland causeway. Morever, just go and apply for access card, you won't need to queue at the check point, less crowd.

QUOTE(xkjon @ Sep 24 2008, 03:50 PM)
hey guys..i just got a question about working in singapore

I just graduated with my bachelors degree and I'm thinking of looking for a job in SG but I see a lot of job ads stating that only singaporeans or singaporean PR are only eligible to apply. But since my dad has PR status, can he help me apply for it too as a dependent so it'll be easier for me to look for jobs? He said that i might risk getting drafted into NS if he applies for me..so thats the only thing he's worried about.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
*
No worries. Just apply those job even stated singaporean or SPR. My job requirement also stated singaporean and have car transport. Me? I am Malaysian and without car transport. Still I got the job due to the skills I have. But many jobs that I applied turned me down, due to the requirement they stated. I have eventually send out my resume to 300+ company. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

PR and Citizen is different. Citizen require you to join NS. Unless your dad from PR change to Citizen. Then you have to go to NS.

Your dad help you to apply PR? Can, no problem, what it will take some time, let's say 3 months? Can you afford for being jobless for 3 months+? Don't forget the period of looking for a job. Economy isn't good now actually, many company trying to cut cost, came out in the newspaper.

Anyway, Good Luck. smile.gif

First rule of asking people to recommend you for jobs in LYN,... don't be a bullshitting forum troll.

How come your 2nd class lower LLB became a diploma overnight? You're full of it.

I think everyone here would appreciate it if you'd stop trolling and posting in this thread.

I think some information you provide is wrong. If his father is PR and apply PR for him, this mean he will be 2nd generation of PR and he will entitle to NS.

Same case to if PR marry PR, their children will be PR but entitle to NS as well.

Please correct me if I am wrong
*
Thanks for the corrections. I do stated that my information is not 100% correct. smile.gif

Think at positive side, you able to get a better job and better pay. This is not important, CPF, spr could buy hdb in singapore. Good investment what. biggrin.gif

hey guys..
i'm interested to work in Singapore as well,
so i've search jobsdb.com and found jobs which related to my field.
So i register myself to jobsdb.com.sg instead.
Prepared the resume and attach it already.
then i've apply for the job so waiting for confirmation..

my question is, is it alrite that i register unter jobsdb (sg) instead of jobsdb (my). By the way, i do not have any passes yet or PR pass.
How long u guys wait for the reply from such job provider ?
Does the company will apply for passes for you if you are hired?

i'm in the field of automation in Semiconductor. How is the automation industry there? I demanded $3500(nego) in my resume, should this be the market price?
*
Yes, it is alright to register under jobsdb, your employer doesn't bother about your account but your resume. If you notice, you won't be able to login into jobsdb.com.my if you register in jobsdb.com.sg. smile.gif

2 days - 1 month. Even after work, they still call me asking me whether I got job already not.

Yes. For sure they have to apply pass for you. If not, they can't employ you and you can't work.

QUOTE(nonadoes @ Sep 25 2008, 04:18 PM)
ohh..thank you..has been waiting for few days already..Guess i've to wait huh.. thanx.
Anyone here in automation?
*
Yes, you have to wait. If you are qualified and they noticed you, they will call you for an interview, that also doesn't mean you can get the job. That's how looking for a job life. biggrin.gif

I graduated from a UK uni majored in Electronics Engineering. Graduated with second upper and now working as a Purchasing Agent with 1.6k per month. I am seriously sad. I turned down an offer by LTA as project engineer last week (they offered me 2.5k) because they told me i need to work at the site  (I am a girl, hello?). So now i need to start seraching again..so stressful...sighzzzzz...

It is quite a bad move to turned down a government-link jobs.

Government keep paying their people 1 eh.

So, what is your mind-set thinking for what your job scope is? smile.gif

I do not think its so simple.

1st, you got to be at least 35 years old if you are single to purchase a flat directly from HDB. HDB always gives priority to married couples.

Housing grants are lower for singles than for married couples.
*
No wonder my colleague ask me to engage in Singapore 1st then only apply for PR, much easier for everything.

QUOTE(Annie @ Oct 2 2008, 03:51 PM)
but after converted to Singapore citizen, can we come back and stay in Malaysia?
*
Yes, must fill up the white card to enter.... laugh.gif

QUOTE(reign226 @ Oct 2 2008, 04:27 PM)
From experience, mostly Malaysians in Sg do not give up their citizen...for the reason that at the end of the day, when it's all said and done...they'd rather come back to Malaysia to live out the end of their days.

Don't burn the bridge, once you convert, you can't convert back.
*
Yes, Malaysia life is much better than Singapore life. Unless we are from other countries like Cambodia, India, etc, then I wouldn't mind at all.... icon_rolleyes.gif
