No issue here with the shop with a young girl, I'll romp the whole of JP tomorrow.
Hmm, you definitely need a much better soldering iron than me, because you use it more than me. Don't be a cheapskate like me!

xtorm,
yes, I will do that soon. the copper wire that I got from my supplier is expensive! To keep the cost down, I may resort to getting them coppers from busted psu's and what nots Recycling!!! Yes, those elcheapo won't last that long. The heat will erode the bit in no time.. it's worthwhile to invest in a good one that will last 'forever' QUOTE(xtorm @ Aug 29 2008, 08:41 PM) nice chat with Y.C. today, another experiance audiophiler... hmmm beside nixie...if there isnt a young girl there then im not sure was it tht shop, there is a fluke shop there right? nixie is the shop just beisde the famous chicken rice right? or was i wrong...hahaha, sorry ah Y.C. btw i think smpa are all the same, meanwell is very well known, no issues. jazzy, 0.2ohm is nice!!! i think you should start calculating the cost to do 1 for use ongbs knn you also got inductance meter? built in the fluke ah? must steal your fluke...hmmmm btw cheapo soldering iron cant last, my cheapo rm12 unit when dead when i was modding my t-amp |

There's alot of online tutorials/infos..
You start with basic electrics and then move on to electronics. Start here: Basic Electronics Online Tutorial Basic Audio Amplifier Basic Transistor Amplifier QUOTE(Oxburg @ Aug 29 2008, 08:39 PM) Can i know where can i learn from? i used to buy old transformer from junkyard, coz that time try to DIY transformer but....it remains as junk afterwards...
Moral of the lesson is: get those copper wire from junkyard if u dun need much. buying them from JP is not cheap as most of the shop sell in roll. |

Make sure you get the right trans as many are using thin copper wires, I believe thicker wires will give better results.
Btw, what is the function of that 4 inductors in our t-amp? |

Just powered my SMPS!
min. voltage can be adjusted: 9.98 max. voltage can be adjusted: 14.73 Will connect to T-Amp after 'warming up'... need to 'memorized' the sound first.. Need to know before and after SMPS.. This post has been edited by jazzy939: Aug 29 2008, 11:47 PM |

ongbs,
the inductor, with the required capacitor forms part of the filtering network to filter only the modulation which includes the audio signal. Whats left after the filtering is the great sound we heard... Therefore, without this filter, Class D would not work. More stuffs to read here: Class D Amplifiers QUOTE(ongbs @ Aug 29 2008, 11:34 PM) Make sure you get the right trans as many are using thin copper wires, I believe thicker wires will give better results. jazzy unless those old copper are thick and with low resistance, i rather pay for the new 1...
im eager to know the result man...hahaha moon cake festival is near, so lots of really nice box out there....haha like this 1 here, damn its nice, a 3 layer thinggy, each layer with 1 mooncake only! rm61....wahlau, but only the top layer got cover...and only able to fit 1 t-amp with all the mods i have.... ![]() i found a better alternative which can host 2 of my boards...hehe, with another compartment for power supply too kekeke This post has been edited by xtorm: Aug 30 2008, 12:24 AM |

xtorm,
no worries! Substitues must be better, NOT less. We can't short change our super duper T-Amp, can't we? Will NOT do the toroid inductor testing yet. The SMPS is progressing. Need to know and familiar myself with sounds first. If too much mods are done at the same time, can't keep track whats affecting what... Mooncake boxes for T-Amp casing eh? Thinking 'outside the box' eh? QUOTE(xtorm @ Aug 30 2008, 12:23 AM) jazzy unless those old copper are thick and with low resistance, i rather pay for the new 1...
