Y.C.,
Yes.. Sansui had bungkus a(long) while back. Too bad.. they make such nice hifi components.. and their black coloured design are always unique.
I guess all good things have got to come to an end... just like Technics here, except Technics is some what still alive in their homeland, Japan.
Oh ya.. that was the flaship and reference of all DVD players during their hay day.. I did count my blessings of having acquired such a great product

and to certain extend, it still is!
I'd say that Sansui partnered with the T-Amp will be the "Best Bang per buck" CD based system!

Nice to know you have a 'little' discount on bulk buying..

Good for you!(and your friends too!) Wonder what other things you might have poisoned your friends too... hahahaha

Yes.. you need a pretty fine tip iron to work with SMDs.. I did mentioned earlier I just have this 'lil soldering iron I bought from Sim Lim Tower, SG which would be splendid for this type of work. Best of all it works on 12VDC.Well i tried in on DC, could have work with AC too!

Having a variable PSU, one would be able to adjust the heat..

Ok.. I will take the lead in the SMDs replacement.. have to add that to my TATDL (T-Amp To Do List)

So, you've just notice a new line in my signature...

Thought no one noticed that!

I was thinking of making one for the office use... but I remembered one reviewer was commenting or rather warning about the Sonic Impact amp if it were to be played in the office,
NOT much work will be done!

And I will have to agree! I have difficulty doing anything else at home too!

Bro Jazzy,
I believe Sansui Electric Co Ltd has already ‘bungkus’ for quite some time, hence not much info could be found on its products.
The Sony DVP-S7000 that both you and bsl555 owned is built like a tank and in fact beyond reach of many ordinary folks (
me included) when it was first launched in yesteryears. It sure is one hell of CD transport and when paired with a decent audio D-A-C, not many midprice CD players let alone the entry level Sansui CD-X310 could come close to its sonic prowess.
My colleague, friend and I went to KLIAV Show 08 together where one of us was ogling at amp, another at cdp whereas the other at both cdp + amp (
all affordable priced ones); I managed to convince them to try out the T-amp at RM55 and one thing led to another; now we bought the Sansui CDP to complete our inexpensive but great-sounding systems. Since we bought 3 units, the seller relented to just a little discount for our purchase.
I have yet to replace any single SMD with capacitor/resistor and actually wanted to hear out / follow the leader of either your goodself or bro Xtorm. I may also need to replace tip of my red Hakko soldering iron with a finer tip before I could solder caps/resistors in place of SMDs.

Added on September 11, 2008, 10:03 pmHeheh, I just saw your newly added signature of "
Home is where T-amp is".
I say make one unit for the office as well; I brought mine to office today and is having a field day here ....
