Aha! Then it's coming from the electrical system when the engine is running.. many things could contribute to this, from alternator to distributor.. tongue.gif
do you intend to rectify this yourself or take to wireman or car audio equipment installers?tongue.gif

too quiet ler.. nothing to contribute? Y.C. and ongbs must be fully occupied with work.. and Y.C.'s lappy probably is still full of those malware/trojans/syware and what nots.. tongue.gif

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 4 2008, 10:58 AM)

YEah.. there's one capacitor/filter supposed to be installed at the distributor..
I think this 'aeroplane sound' will increase proportionally with engine RPM, right? tongue.gif

Haven't power up? Waiting for the 'rosewood' jewellery box to arrive?.. hahahahaha laugh.gif

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 4 2008, 11:13 AM)

Just got a message from Y.C.,
he still can't access the internet... poor Y.C. those very bad spywares/malwares and what nots.. mad.gif

The good news is those parts from Farnell, some has arrived today and the balance hopefully by tomorrow. rclxms.gif
A little bad news: He did not managed to get the Meanwell's S-50-12 SMPS at the same price I got, so got a notebook type SMPS instead.. tongue.gif
It' s not that bad... wink.gif

Weekend forecast : Will be busy with components upgrade, yes! rclxm9.gif

Hehe.. tongue.gif

I doubt it if there would be any sonic differences detectable.. unless you have super duper hearing capabilities.. laugh.gif

Anyway, do report in if there is any..

Have you completed the assembly of the whole kit?

That’s a fair statement!

But important thing is, how's the sound now?

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 4 2008, 02:27 PM)
Yes, all installed.
It does sound diff from patient 1 but since input caps and coils all different for both patient so still hard to tell with the coils alone how the SQ affected.  rolleyes.gif

Oh yes.. this is true. T-Amp NOT suitable for driving headphones... tongue.gif

Customs? As in? hmm.gif

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 4 2008, 03:41 PM)
xtorm, better not as t-amp design not suitable for driving headphone.
you can't use normal 3.5mm stereo jack as T-amp output can't share common
.

Added on September 4, 2008, 3:43 pm

The SQ suit me and match my FS spk more tongue.gif
With new mini donuts and my custom input caps, it sounds more "airly" (more stereo effect/spacious) ...whatever you call it tongue.gif

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 4 2008, 04:40 PM)

ongbs,
my donuts that I wound seems to be performing terribly well. rclxms.gif The airiness is excellent! On my 'teeny weenie' donuts, I need about 14 windings to get it right. wink.gif
I guess the type of materials of the donut have direct influence over the inductance, hence the final audio output.
Will be a permanent feature on my first board, on my second board, I want to use a heavier wire gauge or an air core.. coming, next change wink.gif

Only 5 huh? Lets see some pix!! tongue.gif

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 4 2008, 05:15 PM)
Jazzy, how's your findings on donuts now?
Any new improvement?

I found that if the uH too low the output totally gone (no switching?)  sweat.gif
Sounds like >90% distortion or those burnt amp stage sounding... shocking.gif

My current donuts only need 5 windings...anything more will have the higher end detail missing..

We're gonna be busy this weekend, huh? wink.gif

BTW, do caps need to be 'burned in' too? hmm.gif
