The max depth for underwater camera is only 10m. You need higher than that for diving. Compact camera underwater casing can cost from 800-1500 depend on model. Canon are most affordable.

for me i just use olympus tough 8010 (max depth 10meter) and recently bought its underwater casing (2nd hand rm400), it can go max to 40meter now with this casing. last time i survey at lowyat plaza, brand new UW casing cost more than the camera price, around 1.1k

Me and my bf started with a Canon G9. It has serve us very well for the past few years.
Since I've recently gotten a Canon S95, I'm also looking to buy it's housing so that I can use it for my dive trips.
My bf is also looking into getting an underwater housing for his DSLR and plan to sell off the G9. Yes they are very expensive but it really depends on what your priorities are. There are many people who are very passionate about underwater photography and are willing to invest in it.

A cheaper alternative is to get those plastic housing like what zaff1984 mention. If I remember correctly, it's about RM150+ or so. Might have increase in price already now. The one I know of usually fits all type of compact camera so you don't have to get a new camera if you already have one. I saw someone selling on LYN last time, don't know now still got or not.

Anyone's been to pulau aur? i would like to know the condition there before goin for my trip. I heard its on of the best in peninsular, is it right?

Just came back from Perhentian on Monday. Superb conditions at Tokong Laut, and D' Lagoon. Only one bad dive at Tiga Ruang. Viz only 2m.

Did see a whole school of Bumpheads. Like 20 of them all >1m long.

I think during MIDE, the casings for S95 were going for around 700 for the canon casing and ~900 for the ikelite casing.

Ooh nice. Thanks for the heads up. I wanted to know the price at MIDE since I couldn't make it this year. Planning to get the case from overseas and wanted to compare the price.

Do the plastic housing/bags/wraps work under those pressures? I was thinking mayb its designed for snorkelling.

The last time I went to Sipadan, there was a foreign couple using that plastic wrap thingy with their video cam. But they could only stay above 20m as that's the deepest the plastic wrap will work. Different manufacturer will have different functions I guess.

Really? I thought the plastic wrap thingy only goes well for snorkeling since the one I saw always ranging from3-10m.

Not selling strobe yet at the moment.
Primarily Canon s95 and s90 and G12 underwater casing more now

I thinking to get G12 with casing ,please let me know how much the total cost? Good bargain price maa.. I callled YL camera..they offer me at RM1,650 with 4g and casing. My budget around RM2,500...less then that would be nice.
