QUOTE(TAGreptiles @ Jul 22 2011, 09:09 AM) Yes thanks bro Now need to discuss with my dive buddy and see first. Might need to end up with our OW dive instructor because my dive buddy lost his dive membership card Anyone know where to replace SDI dive membership card? Or can ask them to issue a temporary dive card while he take his AOW? |

Sugar Wreck are recommended to dive here...but 1 meter for visibility..spend almost 40 minutes..Too many divers here..around 15 people..not very comfortable ...maybe thinking to visit other time. Thinking to dive at Batu Layar.
3m should be good.. Yesterday Sea Condition bit rough early morning.. Today cleaning for my gear...ready for Ramadhan will continues after Raya.. |

To be honest, I always found vis at sugar wreck always bad. Been there many times but never had vis >10m (although once in a blue moon there'll be great vis where you can see the entire wreck).
A tip someone told me once, if vis is bad within the islands, best to to the outer dive sites. Say if Tanjung Basi is bad vis, going to Batu Layar or D'Lagoon will get the same. Better to go try Vietnamese wreck, lighthouse or tokong, or T3 |

Where do you guys recommend to go for dives?
Perhentian, Redang or Tioman? I just got my OWD Certification in perhentian.. I feel like going agains but wondering if there are other places I should try. Also money suddenly becoming an issue after paying off summonses and raya coming up. hehe. What is a cheap diving option for you guys? Any LOB around semenanjung thats affordable (ie. 1k more or less)? |

Hi guys, I am just coming back from my OWC took with Sipadan.com... I am officially an open water diver !! yay !!...
All my course held in Mabul... there is no confine water for us, all the skills did in real ocean about 5-6 meter depth. we did 4 days to complete all the quiz(s), final & 4 OWC dive. I hate the open mask and put back during underwater, burn my eyes, nose and really freak me out... 2 times I have to go to surface... haha... I am very lucky that my instructor is very cool teacher. All the instructor there 100% foreigners but they are very friendly. 80% customers there are foreigners.... toilets are clean, dorm also clean and food is quite repeatative but expected. A question not exactly related to diving, regarding food on our islands, i went to perhentians blown a hole in my wallet to eat. Each meal there costs Rm12 (Nasi goreng Padprik + coke) fried rice cheapest is Rm6.50-7.00. Is that the average prices in the other island as well? I know Tioman is duty free but how about the food price? Id cheaper perhaps i'll go get my AOW there.

Tioman's food prices are cheaper compared to Perhentian. More of a kampung place compared to super tourist place like other islands.
