Hey guys, I am interested in learning how to dive and learn OWD.. Is size a factor? I am a fluffy guy.

Another things, anyone can recommend a place where I can do part of the lessons in KL and the other somewhere else? I dont have the luxury of time yet as my boss loves me too much and gets worried.

Thanks!

Well not biggest loser asia fluffy but quite fluffy as in size 40 pants.

Urm any recommendations on places that can offer what blackwhitechipsKL had said?

I note that there is an upcoming Dive expo. Should I go there to try get an offer or just go approach the centres now?

Yeah. I was thinking the place is on a rig itself and from the reviews it says the corals under the rig is as good and very active and filled with life..

Anyhow, i think i wouldve gone there if I couldnt even dive just to know how it was like to be on top of the platform and jump off.. hehe.

Me and my bf started with a Canon G9. It has serve us very well for the past few years.
Since I've recently gotten a Canon S95, I'm also looking to buy it's housing so that I can use it for my dive trips.
My bf is also looking into getting an underwater housing for his DSLR and plan to sell off the G9. Yes they are very expensive but it really depends on what your priorities are. There are many people who are very passionate about underwater photography and are willing to invest in it. smile.gif

A cheaper alternative is to get those plastic housing like what zaff1984 mention. If I remember correctly, it's about RM150+ or so. Might have increase in price already now. The one I know of usually fits all type of compact camera so you don't have to get a new camera if you already have one. I saw someone selling on LYN last time, don't know now still got or not.

Do the plastic housing/bags/wraps work under those pressures? I was thinking mayb its designed for snorkelling.

Where do you guys recommend to go for dives?
Perhentian, Redang or Tioman?

I just got my OWD Certification in perhentian.. I feel like going agains but wondering if there are other places I should try. Also money suddenly becoming an issue after paying off summonses and raya coming up. hehe.

What is a cheap diving option for you guys? Any LOB around semenanjung thats affordable (ie. 1k more or less)?

I agree with munkeyflo, you should try to not rush it all there. I did my confined course in KL before going to the island for the open water course.

This way is a lot easier on you and you tend to relax a bit. Anyhow I treated my course as part holiday part certification trip so in the end it was worth it.

Last month i did diving with Quiver Long Beach and it's the best diving experience i've ever had in Perhentian!!
i end up doing my AOW with them
Funny bunch..mostly british instructor/DM.

I think it's the most worth it diving price i could find on the island too!! DM me for the price.

Pls go there and check it out!!

I've started to gain trust with Peninsular East Coast diving since diving with Quiver.

Yeah.. i did my open water certification with them.. I recommend them. Great bunch of ppl and very patient towards my needs... smile.gif
