QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Dec 26 2010, 12:38 PM) zaff1984, it's not that easy to dive at Sipadan. they only allow a limited number of ppl per day to dive there. some divers don't even get to dive at the island if its the peak season. so be sure to plan your trip before hand and tell your dive center/hotel that you plan to dive at sipadan after your course. Hi munkey, thanks for your advise...I will pay the OCW 30% deposit early Jan @ RM850, I will take with sipadan.com... I already told them that I wish to dive @ sipadan as I passed my OWC... will go in July, as far as im concern July is peak season.... booking early Jan is early enough..? and possible to get my sipadan permit?theory isn't hard at all. PADI's OW and Advance are very easy. you just have to sit thru all the videos and the slides and do all those questions in the book. then at the end there will be a small MCQ test. it depends on your instructor whether he's strict or not. but most of them will let you pass as long as you get most of it correct. no worries. |

QUOTE(purplelicious @ Jun 23 2011, 06:41 PM) that very cheap... my OWC will be 27 days to go... quite nervous because I will be alone and this is my 1st time solo travel...my total cost will be OWC = RM950 PADI OPEN WATER – 3 days 5 Confined water dives 4 Open water dives Diving equipment Book & Certification Accom = RM65(dorm) x 4 night [5days/4night] = RM260 [include 3 meals] Return Boat = RM100 Airport Return = RM160 TOTAL COMPULSORY COST = RM1470.00 Optional Dive @ Mabul/Sibuan or neighborhood island = RM100 per dive. Optional Dive @ Sipadan = RM600 (dont know how many dive site in this package) on the 4th & 5th day I will be free... so plan to take 2 dive each day = RM100 x 4 dive = RM400 (since mostly said Sipadan not suitable for newbie, so I plan not to dive @Sipadan - just go for neighborhood island) TOTAL FOR MY OWC + OPTIONAL DIVING = RM1470 + RM400 = RM1870 after I get little bit pro, then I will comeback to Sipadan .... |

QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Jun 29 2011, 11:43 PM) Clearly you just need mask like what munkeyflo reply. Other equipment, you can buy after you have certified diver. At that time, you should have deep knowledge on what you need and what feature on the equipment will suit your diving style. Most of my friend have bought equipment before they get certified but at last sold it as second hand because they are not comfortable with the equipment bought before. OK noted. thanks for the advise. But do I need a "rash guard" or they will provide it? |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Jul 3 2011, 01:39 PM) IST is a Taiwan brand if I'm not mistaken. Cheaper than US and European brands, not as top quality I would say but good enough. okay thanks for the info... i have to go to Scubatex office next week to 'pasang' my power lens... it's okay right during scuba/OWC I wear dryfit shirt (got zip on the neck) and surf short? rash guard @ scudatex a look yesterday at MIDE not very nice in term of design..hihi... but the price is good. |

Guys, I have a bad news for myself (???) .... (which I already post) I will take OWC with Sipadan.com at Mabul next week... exited and nervous since this is my first time solo travel...
(Bad news) - Somebody told me sipadan.com not doing it OWC at Mabul... BUT on a mainland (Semporna)(sipadan.com office at Semporna)... which I know from dive shop at subang last few days.... before this I thought 100% OCW will be held in Mabul... its quite let down for me... Is it true..? haiiss.... |
