A friend of mine had once told me (few years ago or was it last year, jayhan?) that if its over £1000 per month, one is able to live a comfortable life even in London.
I kinda forgot if he did told me that or was it another person, but that was told to me before all these global price hike tongue.gif
*
yeha agree with that...1000 pounds per month is more than enuf for a basic living..but it depends on individual..everyone spending habits are different le... i have fren who earn 1500 per month..but still not enuf...coz he is heavy drinker and heavy smoker..everynight can spend up to 70 pounds on drinks only...

Dear all,

I'm going to work at Wimbledon, London soon next year for 1 year. What is the cost of living over there? Accommodation is provided by my company (not sure what type, mostly is service apartment, I think...) and I also got 40 pound per day (end up 1,200 per month) as my expenses allowance.

Is 40 pound enough for the two of us over there (I will bring my wife too but she is not allow to work)?

Thanks.

40quid a day is very good. unless you wine and dine in fancy places.

me in london for about 4 year+ now. will be there about 2-3 years more....

Satay House sounds nice, I never really been there before as it wasn't very inspiring to eat Malaysian food while here laugh.gif

September - October seems to be a good season for seafood, anyone?

http://www.lochfyne.com/

It's a bit costly but I heard the stuff that is pretty nice.

haha, i understand what u mean. btw, that place is pretty good i'd say if you didnt have the choice of coming back for the food.

btw, you sir, have good taste in food! i've been staring at lockfayne's menu for sometime and even had it bookmarked >_< the reason that i didnt end up going is that none of my 'peers' are willing to 'spend that kind of $' on a meal. anyway, im going to eat as much as i can while im still back tongue.gif

Haha, I spend a lot of time and money hunting for food around in London because there are quite a lot of good food here. For Lochfyne, I initially intend to go there this week with my friends but one of them doesn't take seafood so we're trying out a Mongolian BBQ in Angel. If you're in London, give me a buzz and we can try the Loch Fyne seafood platter!!

Firedauz, how about 27th Sept?

We've got one of the best Fish & Chips here........If not, some local produced like woodpigeon, etc......and a michelin starred restaurant that doesnt burn a hole in your pocket rolleyes.gif

I think the seafood should cost about £25 minimum. I would suggest going for satay house as the seafood could turn people off and I didn't think the environment would be suitable to be noisy as well laugh.gif

Besides, I think Satay House is halal?
