What are good sealant and wax other than expensive brands like Meguairs and Zynol? Any reccommendations?
*
anyway..sealants are break in to different kind of sealant again. The most common will be polymer, then followed by acrylic and so on which i can't remember. Meguairs wax some is carbauna some is sealant(usually polymer). I think what u are referring to is Zaino, these are based on acrylic. There are other brands thats sound like Zaino such as Zymol. So read properly before you purchase. here is an example

http://www.ffcobra.com/magazine/waxtest.html

When comes to acrylic, there is two brands that always comes to mind, Zaino and Klasse. There are other brands which is acrylic base as well such as jeff jerret or something. But usually when they talk about acrylic base, Zaino and Klasse will always be the main choice.

Please do correct me if my info was wrong.

Hi guys....

need some opinion / clarification on the proper steps in car detailing.

1)deep wash
2)clay
3)deep wash again
4)Paint cleaner (step1)
5)Paint Polish (step2)
6)Carnuba Wax / Gold Class Wax

question .... when does the sealant comes in ?? after wax ??? or before wax ?? from my understanding sealent should be the last one since it serves as protection to yr car ... hmm but kinda confuse now rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

another thing is i saw Meguiars NXT wax .... anybody try it before ? how is it ?

hope you guys can help notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

before wax. You must wonder why? sweat.gif . If you put wax first, then the sealant can't bond to the surface area coz oredi got wax. Some go until sealant then they stop. No need to add carbauna wax unless u wan the car to look super wet, depth look.

1)deep wash
2)clay
3)deep wash again
4)Paint cleaner (step1)
5)Paint Polish (step2)
6)Sealant
7)Carnuba Wax / Gold Class Wax(make sure this doesn't contain cleaners)

then u need to continue use step 7 to maintain. If you skip step 7, then use step 6 to maintain.

Z2Pro - SGD$33
Z5Pro - SGD$36
Z-CS(Clear Seal) - SGD$58

I order from Singapore distributor..and courier to my house.

To strip off exising sealant/wax.
First, wash the car, follow by Clay, then Megs DCStep1 Cleaner...at this stage, at least 80% of the wax has been removed, almost no water beading...

To try different products(sealant/wax) on my car, my method as below:
Step1: Wash using heavy duty car shampoo.
Step2: Clay
Step3: Megs DC1 Cleaner
Step4: Wash using normal car shampoo.
Step5: Apply sealant

Some of the polymer sealant protect very well, wash and clay alone doesn't remove the wax...

Ar, your question, any guru/sifu here can share ??i haven't try any cutting compound or wet sanding technique yet..

You can get ZAINO from Singapore distributor..I am planning to do a bulk buy, bulk order to save $$ from bank charge and courier fees.
Anyone interested?

You missed the Claying step..
Zaino Z2 or Z5 are sealant smile.gif You don't need to layer wax on top, the Zaino looks are good enough smile.gif

To apply Zaino products, the existing wax from other brand must be strip off else the sealant will not bond properly and affect durability. Refer first post by "RedBox", he's using dawn dish washing soap for car wash.

Previously my car has Meguiars NXT, M21, M16 , DC3 Carnauba and Mothers Advanced Reflection Top Coat wax treament. None of these sealant/wax pass the durability test except M21...
So, i decided to remove all of these wax and try Zaino.
Day1 afternoon + evening
Step1: Deep wash using heavy duty car shampoo (PolyGlaze Car Wash mixed with Polyglaze heavy duty shamoo paint cleaner
Step2: Clay (Megs Clay + Megs QuikDetailer as lubrication)
Step3: Wash without car shampoo and rinse dry
Step4: Cleaning (Megs DC1 Cleaner)
Step5: Wash using normal car shampoo (Polyglaze wash)
At this stage, try to perform a "squeak test". Use finger and swipe against the surface, you will hear metal squeaking noise. 99% of the exisiting wax has been removed...

Because i am not using ZFX cure addictive, the waiting time is abit long..
Day1 night
Step6: 1x coat Z5-Pro Let it cure for 2hours, then buff off.

Day2 morning, afternoon, evening
Step7: 1st coat of Z2-Pro. Let it cure for 3-4hours, buff off
6hours later, apply 2nd coat of Z2-Pro. Wait for 3-4hours.. buff off
Day2 night
Step8: Spray on Z-CS(Clear Seal) using #314 pad applicator, wipe On and walk away

Day3 morning
Spray on Z-CS again...Done. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Some comments, Megs M21 definitely darken the paint more, has Carnauba looks. But it doesn't stand a chance and not even stay close to Zaino durability, clearity, reflection and hard(glass) like shine.

hye, gotbandwidth,
It is a good product and has been in the market for quite a long time.
Pros: Very Shiny, glossy look, add more depth.
Furthermore, it is cheap, the package comes with 530ml..
Cons: Not durable, this wax contains more oil hence i guess the shine is from the oil. Couple of wash, it is gone. hmm.gif

What colour is you car aar? Dark colour, go for Pro line, Megs #21 Synthetic sealant, rm118(473ml). It really darken the paint more, looks nice on black, red, yellow car... nod.gif icon_idea.gif

Yes..can also, just using Wax without sealant. In fact sealant/wax is similar product, but sealant are more towards polymer, acrylic based.

Imho, 2 thin coats of M21 is good looking enough. The reason to apply 2-3layers of sealant is to ensure complete coverage.
You can try to layer pure Carnauba based wax on top, but i hardly see any difference for doing that...

Bird shit will etch on any car paint, but of course car with wax/sealant have more protection, removal is easier!! Don't let it dry for days, recommend remove it within 6hours..
