Detailing help.....
Just got my car repainted and as expected...orange peel effect was evident. I was told to polish the car again once the paint settles down a month later. Will that really do?

It's sealant => wax
I don't get that phrase.....sealant then wax or sealant is a form of wax so I don't need another layer of NXT??

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Sep 24 2008, 05:24 PM) I tried that before and even done by Hypercoat themselves who should know their own products. Unfortunately, the results were far from satisfactory and it was a waste of RM250. NXT does not seem to work on dark coloured cars. Hopefully it would work on light coloured cars since Adrian is driving one. You prolly should have went with the MEG gold class wax. Then layer it with a layer of reflections top coat from mothers. That will give you the wet look.

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Sep 25 2008, 07:27 AM) I aleady have the wet look as you can see above. What I'm saying is that Hypercoat failed as distributors and detailers of Megs. I've always been to Autospa and I thought lets try Hypercoat. They should know better but they failed. So it is still back to Autospa for me. The only DIY I would do is to use quick detailing with Megs. There is no way i would do the paint cleaner, paint treatment, wax and top coat that Autospa does for me each time I wax. It takes 4 of them 2 hours to do it, which would mean 8 hours by myself. Understand your predicament. I don't think I read it above, how much did you spend on those treatments? I need to polish my car soon.........

QUOTE(daijoubu @ Mar 17 2009, 12:35 PM) guys, i've just got my car repainted. whats the best way to protect the paint and give it a wet look shine, besides washing regularly? do i have to apply a first time wax, etc? Give it 3-4 weeks under hot sun before going for another round of polish + wax. Orange peel effect will appear and that's what the first round of polishing is for. Then apply wax straight away after that.

QUOTE(KC's @ Feb 26 2010, 01:36 AM) agreed.... NXT still my choice of wax....few thing for u to consider...i got a tub of patse NXT...i think i wax about 75-80 cars ...still left 20 % of it... then after it is cure for 8 hours...i then applied my gold class...that usually will not last if it is stand alone but when it is applied on the NXT sealant wax.....ma ma mia...see my black...very glossy & shinny & durable.....dont waste it but use it in another way hahahahaha...u can also name it bazooka...just some definations very expensive...quite boutique...my moderation still value for $$$$$ cant help it...easy to use & affordable.....when i got my Bently ...i will use paul dalton crystal case Swiss vax.....most exp tub...i think about 10K....USD or pound hahahahah until then i need more $$$$ to buy more milk powder for my babies....cheers I think you should know that the Gold class and NXt has cleaners in them. When you're lapping the NXT with the gold class, you're removing the NXT layer as well.......

It's impossible to remove orange peel by hand. You can remove it by either wet sanding or compounding it. Either way, you need a pro and a lot of time.
