I used clean water when doing the window sills. At first I found it to scratch the glass a little but I realized it was every time my fingernail hits the sandpaper  doh.gif

Going to resume sanding works next morning. Too many mosquitoes working their way towards my blood.  rclxub.gif

use the claying method then, use the force from your palm instead of your fingers wink.gif

Tarak clay. I'm pretty much a n00b when it comes to detailing. Previously I was this little innocent kid knowing nothing about driving, now suddenly caring so much for a car that is now mine doh.gif I use the back of my finger to make sure things are smoothly done. laugh.gif time-consuming but aiyah what to do must start from scratch ma.

I'm curious though, is there any faster way to do this? Apart from using those rotary sander machines and stuff.

But how to control the speed of drill?

Like my optimum, it was suggested that the speed is to be set around 1.2k~1.5krpm.

What will happen if we do not use the recommended speed? If I set it too fast, will it burn the paint?

Manual work is horribly troublesome. sad.gif

Aliyah malas nak buat already. Spending hours but results are quite miniscule compared to input effort. Guess I shall find a professional detailer one day to handle this for me cry.gif

Finally I can see a proper water beading...

I washed, clean with paint cleaner then wax with Optimum Spray Wax. 3 hours, good exercise for me.

guys, how do you clean your application pad which is soiled with sealant and wax? I heard someone says solvent, but what type of solvent specifically. Now I am using dish washing liquid, but I am looking for a faster way.

use your fingers/nails to "scrub" the foam/pads biggrin.gif

I am scrubbing with dish detergent now, alot of work. I want a scrubless solution. Something like a solvent which I can leave it for a few hours and watch a movie biggrin.gif

Every time I polish, wax or seal my car, I have lots of foam applicator to wash

dont use dish detergent, use clothes washing powder. leave it around and watch a movie, by the time ur done just scrub off whatever that's still stubborn (it'll be softened enough to be effortless)

Dawn Power Dissolver...can be found in ACE Hardware...be warned it's a little expensive but &%$ it ROCKS. Spray on->leave it for an hour->rinse & squeeze only.
Warning: don't leave it overnight or more than a few hours as it *could* spoil the foam (don't ask how I know that....hehehe...).

ok, let me try the el-cheapo clothes detergent first. Now my foam is like waterproof and beading better than my car after multiple usage with sealand and wax LOL.

Personally, I think it is a must to use paint cleaner on white car, I am using DuraGlos 501 and the white really pops out. But my hand refuse to move anymore after applying half a car LOL

after this gonna use Klasse high gloss sealand on it.
