Hi Sifus

I'm having trouble deciding which wax to buy for my car.
Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Wax or Ultimate Wax.

This is my first time waxing my car, so I would like your feedback on these two products or any recommendations of others.

Thank you.

hi buddy, i understand your situation as you see so many kind of meguiar's waxes on the shelf. maybe you might dont know which one to choose cause its all the same waxes.

Megs Gold Class Carnuba
natural carnuba, very wet look/high gloss, however it doesnt last long due to our weather, prefer for dark color car.

Ultimate Wax
synthetic wax, nice water beading, can apply under the sun, will last longer than carnuba, not as wet look as carnuba.

for dark color car- please note before apply this 2 product, you need to prep your surface properly as it will streak after buffing off. i have another choice for you which is OCW (Optimum Car Wax)

OCW
UV resistant, nice water beading, just spray and wipe, contains a little carnuba, will not streak on any other color, nice fragrance.

Alright I will give it a try.
BTW if the OPC hits those plastic surface which I have applied some protectant, do i need to re-apply those again?
*
yeap, you need to re-apply again.

throughout a car's lifetime (say 10 years) how many times can we polish (remove swirls, scratch) it before exposing the paint?

Guys previously I used OCW, eventhough its very easy to use, nice shine and good water beading characteristics... i find it doesnt last very long... 2-3 weeks at most? what are you guys getting with OCW?

Hi Muyo,

thanks for the feedback. In my case, it is a Bayside Blue Suzuki Swift. So can I use Gold Class initially, then maintain the finish using Meguiar's Quik Wax/Ultimate Quik Detailer?

Guys, how to remove double sided tape from the previous tire balancing without removing the wheel? What to use, I found it fugly when doing 2,3 times of balancing. Another question is how to repair interior plastic scratch such as glove box?

i wax my car with OCW 2 weeks once. about durability, i cant really answer you. alot issues will affect it etc

1. humidity
2. places you park (shade/expose under the sun)
3. acid rain
4. under the sun for hours and many more.

lifetime say 10years WITHOUT polishing. if you maintain it yourself probably will last more than that. our clear coat is thick as a cigarette wrapper about 3-5mil of microns.

In our climate, 2-3 weeks is about right for OCW. Since it's easy to use, applying every 2-3 weeks shouldn't be a problem. If you want something that last longer, there are other stuff for that.

i guess
1. averagely constant 80%
2. Open office car park next to the airport
3. Of course. Its smack right in the middle of the industrial zone laugh.gif
4. 24/7 outdoor.

Its an "outdoor" car.

I've used a couple of spray waxes. and I'd rate them as
1. Megs Ultimate quick wax
2. Turtle wax platinum Quick detailer
3. OCW
4. Turtle wax wax-it-wet
5. Black fire quick detailer

let me share with you
my buddies do not believe in yearly polishing & under tree road side wash or supermarket car care

all he did for the past 13 is this - i will let the pic show u

conclusion

the little difference is the heart of ownership.... I always believe - the master knows it best...and one who not just loving the ride but the ultimate journey (the reason the paint look great - is my buddy washes his own car all these while)

you too can make a different

as for OCWax is patented in US - one application last 5 months in US weather

i have tested with the combination of Optimum opti seal + OC wax = 3 months
if itis weekly wash by onr will last 4-5 months

as the polymers bonds together

now the issue is when u sent it to car wash
Habis cerita - why? look at what is inside the foam tong - degreaser la, acid like amonia - fab powder = to confirm this
just look at the worker hands - fingers nail warping, nail colour greenish, plenty of blisters & wearing boots
just to confirm talk to them - ask how is their health & skin issue - SLS cancer causing agent

most entrepreneur wanna make $$$$ and their workers suffers health deterioration

YOU can make a different today

No upcoming detailing clinics?

Would like to organize but VERY hard to find min 10ppl who are committed into maintaining their paint job. Tried to persuade them to wash their own car with ONR but seems most of my friends are too busy with work etc..

Dear all,

Is this what hologram mark is?
Is this serious?

I was quoted around RM250 to remove it and also another one, RM99 to cover up.
Can anyone recommend me a place to remove it?
or recommend me a product which i can use to remove by hand (well, i've been advised that the only way to remove such marks are by way of machine).

p.s.: i truly regret leaving my car at Proton......they provide this free wash and wax session and the guy there used a rotary buffer to wax my car and hence, this mark...although they offer to polish it up, i'm not sure if i can trust them?

Hi fella readers,

i have something to clear out here. as the car above have holograms issue caused by improper waxing technique. as every liquid/paste wax labeled behind, we only use hand to apply wax but did the label says we can use a rotary buffer to apply wax? is this true or false? what will caused holograms?

1. improper technique handle rotary buffer
2. dry buffing
3. did not finish well at the last step
4. pads not clean
5. apply wax on machine
6. wrong polish

all these i labeled above will caused holograms. i still heard sometimes people say "owner: ohh, and then you wax with machine ar?" xxx: "yalor, if not the car wont kilat" i saw many cars have holograms on the road, not wira, saga or etc but those alphard, camry, bmw etc. all these issues seems like abusing to me, you suppose to finish up like a mirror, not tattoo-ing. this owner have come to me yesterday morning, i didnt take much pictures during the process cause im actually rushing back to ipoh with my girlfriend. but i did have some sunshine shot i took after the finishing.

the 4hours process was:
-wash with ONR
-clay
-OHP + double sided foam pad (remove holograms while i get to finish at the same time)
-OCW to protect
