In this case , i guess i'm better off to replace a new windscreen instead as some suggest going to those Dr.Cermin but the price simply cost around 100 to 200.

but how many of us has been suffering from that thing ...the sticky budging bumps feeling marks...called TAR
Removing Road Tar As we drive around, our beautiful detail car is constantly bombarded with small specks of road grime, insect remains, tar, tire rubber, grease and oils kicked up by the cars and lorries in front of you. These sticky contaminants that is splatted on our paint, can only be removed by some petroleum-based on our exterior surface. Soap-and-water washing will do little to remove these ugly black spots. worst still road tar, to remover you need a solvent or strong detergent inorder to removed this tough substances before they mar our paint finish Most commercial tar removers contain kerosene, mineral spirits or another petroleum distillate combined with lubricants to surround and buffer the road tar from your paint. Of the petroleum distillate products. Moreover it is state at the back label: -Danger. Flammable liquid and vapor. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Vapor is extremely harmful too. Some manufacturers combine both products in one aerosol can, another environmental issue raised here Other detailer may polish it off.... just a few poka dots....and 6.5" or 8" wool & all sort of wool does this pushes in more into our clear coat paint??? what happen ifit is brake asbestos....making me feels like "burning the whole garden because of a few weeds"... Do we need to compromise inorder to get things resolve, or do create another problem by solving the last problem. picture of a just washed car.... test the contamination picked up moving on the side door picture of a brand new car ....NEW..& how contaminated can it be??? tools i need to test paint contaminations & surface above contaminations.... spray on onr after wash as lube, the best available lube...that is safe, effortless & cost effective...imagine if we were to used expensive branded car shampoo...& rinsing hence after...creates more work then glide the damp microfibers across slowly & gently...you will feel nothing like bare hand/skin direct contact....suddenly the snoops and little bumps appears The modern solution for tar removal is detailing clay. If the tar is extremely stubborn on your painted surfaces, you can also use a optimum power clean to agitate (recommended 5:1 or 3:1) after pics & contaminations picked up things that our naked eyes & hand could not be seen but is picked by this process How often should I clay? For your own daily driven vehicle, twice a year..is good ...as the danger of old clay & contamination stuck on the existing clay.....its potential damage when used improperly. ...each touch creates frictions & we dont want too much of it ... btw There is no maximum of times you can clay your car...less is more...The problem we were beginning to see is that many car enthusiasts wanted to clay their vehicles frequently; as often as 3 weeks ONCE or monthly....????? moving to side door, contaminations picked up side skirt...the undeniable area the contaminations picked up ta da couple of tips 1) pls lube the surface before clay (I expect you would have wash prior claying) 2) LUBE the surface...2 caps of ONR into 500 ml water with spray nozzle (wet the surface ) not under heated & sun...cool surface 3) clay only 1 feet X 1 feet area , check your clay prior moving on another section.by folding it into a new part....on your palm..start from the top...hood to skirt... 4) do not use pressure...let the clay do the job....GLIDE....up & down (left to right) pls do not circle it 5) If you clay is breaking thrown away...buy least aggressive clay .....PG 3 6) all you need is to clay twice a year not twice a month once you have done it ...you have prepare the surface for compounding.....polishing or waxing... you need to removed dead head prior applying lotion ...its part of the facial..process most of all have fun |

Even new cars, you should do full detailing to ensure your paint last. Eg. it could be in caryard for months and there are tons of contaminants when transport like brake dust, acid rain, tar, etc.
Car wash: Self car wash if possible as auto car wash will scratch your paint.. Even those hand wash you should check their rags or wash cloth. If you go premium, it will be hundreds might as well self wash. 2 bucket system(1 for shampoo never dirty; 1 for rinse change when too dirty) with grit guards if possible with premium car wash Meguiars, Optimum, Duragloss else at least OTC premium like Kit, Permaglass, etc. Clay: Cheapest OTC are permaglass at Jusco approx $30 3 types depending on car condition. Use diluted shampoo or best ONR 1:64 as claylube. Else can use quick detailers like Meguiars Mist n Wipe, etc. Polish: Don't confused with machine compound or polish which some shops do.. that will reduce clearcoat and instill cobwebs/swirls if not done correctly. One step will be AIO like Permaglass Sealant & Meguiars Cleaner Wax which polish & seal.. OTC ones though say polish or wax, they're all AIO with either more cleaners or more LSP.. Polish will be to surface prep the paint ready to be sealed. LSP: Last step product either sealant(synthetic) or wax(carnauba): Both pros & cons.. Sealants usually last longer so popular but give a candy coat hard shell look which some like.. looks good on white. Carnauba popular as give deep look especially to dark cars.. Some examples are Meguiars NXT 2.0 Tech Wax is actually a synthetic sealant while Meguiars Gold Class is Carnauba Wax. No right or wrong. Some like to put sealant first and then at next wash top up with wax to get best of both worlds. Quick detailers: Considered rinseless car wash that mist & wipe off. Eg. Meguiars Ultimate quick Detailer(UQD) Spray Waxes: Topper wax when used between wash until next full LSP . Eg. Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax(UQW) For all above, please use quality microfibers to prevent unnecessary marrings while detailing. Happy detailing!! QUOTE(Jarod @ Sep 29 2010, 10:45 AM) wow! sounds like a lot of work. i can't do all those myself. can recommend me a good detailer? i'm getting my new car next week. white cruze. Put it this way. You spend half a day getting your car properly protected and you'll save yourself money on troubles down the line. A good sealant would only need to be reapplied every year. And a good wax prolly every 2-4 months depending on how often you drive, where the car is parked etc.You can pay someone to do it if you want to. I'm not sure where to recommend in terms of a good detailer. I'm sure others here would have an idea. This is what I did when I first got my car. 1. Wash. 2. Dry. 3. Clay bar a little of the front as there were some stubborn grimes there. 4. Deep clean. 5. Sealant. 6. Wax. 7. Spray on detailer. 8. Rims&Tyres. 9. Glass. ![]() |

hi all detailing enthusiasts
i have a question on engine wash, is it adviseable to wash engine? how is the proper way to wash it? i did read several guide on the internet but still i want to know how sifu here do their magic. how about the use of degreaser? some said that improper use of degreaser might damage the body paint.. some said that it's better to leave the engine unwashed, the engine work better that way. |

I'm no expert but this is how I do it.
1. Lightly spray the engine bay with water then degreaser. Do not spray water directly at the engine. 2. Leave for a few minutes then scrub with a brush. 3. Spray down with water. 4. Wipe down with microfiber towel. Turning on the engine for 10-15 minutes before drying makes it easier. 5. Spray engine bay with engine detailer. 6. Repeat step 4. Hope this helps. Waxed and did some minor detail work on interior and exterior of my car today. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I don't see anything wrong with taking pictures. And working alone, when your hands is all dirty and full of wax isn't exactly the most convenient time to take pictures. I'm not a professional detailer like you are. I don't see the need to take pictures of every single step I do.i dont seems to see that practise in any international arena |
