To KC or Seech I'm intrigued by Opti Coat product , from their website it's for pro application only, would multiple layer of Opti Seal provide the same protection or are they different in chemical composition ? thanks.

Hi. The Opti Coat is indeed for professional application only as it forms a semi-permanent coating on top of your paint that last >1 year+++ so any paint defects have to be fixed before the coating is applied otherwise it will be sealed in.Opti Seal is a great product which also seals the paint but it does not form a coating so it needs to be reapplied regularly. I personally don't see much benefit to appealing multiple coats and prefer to apply it more regularly instead. If you wash your car with ONR and Opti Seal it weekly, which should take less than 30min to do, it would look great all the time! |

hello everybody,
i am planning to wax my father's car this week and i need some advice. I will be using kit wax which has been collecting dust for long time already. Is that brand good? Please recommend me some brand. The paint of the car is black metallic and 6 months old. My procedure is wash and wax only.Is clay bay or any other step necessary? I also noticed there are some hairline swirl on the paint, can i get rid of them by waxing the car? Also when is the time to polish the car if I wax the car monthly? |

QUOTE(Here-I-Come @ Aug 22 2010, 11:53 AM) hello everybody, Wax - Protection for the Paint from acidic rain etc ..i am planning to wax my father's car this week and i need some advice. Polish - Use to remove a layer of clear coat from the paint , so the paint will look like new and swirl free IF u know what u are doing. wax - depends on ur durability of the wax . If it still beats(rolling off) water then there is still wax , if not its time to apply. Polish - some do it once or twice a year . But do remember polishing is by removing a tiny layer of clear coat so don't over do it If the kit wax is still like normal then it can be use . usually wax doesn't has expiry date Buy according to what u can spend , the best u could go for Meguiers , Mothers , 3M etc etc .. or u can get soft99 or turtle wax . My family owns a 1 year old black car just like u , I am the person in charge of taking care of it ... u must be extra carefully with black color its like a mirror reflecting everything on it thats the worst part . I usually wash it 1 once a week or if its not dirty then , 3-4weeks once and waxing it once a month . claying never done before .. This post has been edited by wilsonjack228: Aug 22 2010, 02:18 PM |
