QUOTE(kamion @ Oct 27 2011, 05:48 PM) gennn, I'm planning to install non-inverter in my living room because it will only be switched on once in a while when guests are around. Therefore, I don't foresee the room will get cool enough for the inverter to have an effect (slow down compressor). Ya. I would not plan to turn on living room air-cond frequently. This post has been edited by gennn: Oct 29 2011, 08:34 PM |

Buying which model of air conditioner was an easy decision for me but currently having dificulty to find a good air conditioner contractor having good installation job. I find many air conditioner contractors are giving lousy service and not doing the installation according to SOP. Many contractors are hiring unqualified/uncertified technician(s) and they tend to do the job according to their "own pasar standard". When U tell them "Ur suppose to do it according to the manual as written", they will tell U "I'm been doing this for years and I haven't seen anything problem due to this". Most of them are "btc" which means nvr been to school for education.
I currently looking ard for a good reputable contractor who can do a good job. I don't mind paying so longs the quality of the job done is above my satisfaction level. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. The airconds will be installed with concealed trunking, this is the toughest part for me due to I have to find a contractor who can do a excellent job in both installation and concrete works. Headache QUOTE(edu @ Oct 4 2011, 09:18 PM) anybody knows how much it costs to install aircond (1 hp & 2hp), with conceal type including piping? Aside frm different air conditioner output, typical inverter and conventional air conditioners are having dirrerent labout rate of installation charges since typical inverter air conditioners are using R410A refrigerent which is more expensive than R22 refrigerent and besides the copper pipings are different in dimension. U need to specific which type of air conditioner besides the output of it.QUOTE(kh8668 @ Oct 4 2011, 10:58 PM) easily 500-600 per unit Above rates are for what air conditioner output? Inverter or conventional air conditioner?e.g air-point point - 200 to 250 per point air-point piping (conceal) - 10ft could 200, then extra 1 ft charge 15 - 17 pfr. air-cond installation; if you will buy the aircond + standard installation; 180 - 350 per unit QUOTE(ozak @ Oct 12 2011, 08:47 AM) There is no different service with inveter or non inverter aicon. Price should be the same. Mind too is Panasonic Envio Inverter. Maybe he charge cheaper cause all my office aircon service by him. Probally your 1 is more expensive. R410A and R22 are different in price. Typical inverter air conditioners are running on R410A refrigerent. Why is the service charges the same between inverter and conventional air conditioner? It quite difficult to find a good aircon service guy. This guy also so so only. But at least he don't cheat me about the gas refill thing and honest. Ask him don't open the outdoor cover to service. Just spray chemical and clean. My experience is, the outdoor unit become loud sound after service. Think they not instal back properlly. QUOTE(phoenix69 @ Oct 18 2011, 06:45 PM) Pana sounds unstable lah. My house contractor previously was an air cond service guy. he do not recommend pana but daikin. I browsed through the priced in this forum, daikin is slightly pricier. Is it worth the extra RM100+ for daikin?? Unstable in terms of what? |

Manual is good but experience is a must. Sometimes doesn't mean most of the times. There are exceptions due to many factors. If manual is not for U to follow, then what is the reason manufacturer include along with their product? Unless V are better than the manufacturer on their own product. I agree tht experience is a must despite manual is given.I don't wanna end up like this. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 29 2011, 02:30 PM) Always get quotes based on model numbers. Words can always be mistaken. The best prices ive got so far for Panasonic are: Anybody managed to get some better pricing for the above mentioned aircons?1) 1.5HP Deluxe Inverter CSS13MKH - RM1600 2) 1.5HP Non Inverter (+Ioniser) CSC12MKH - RM 1400 3) 1.0HP Non Inverter (+Ioniser) CSC9MKH - RM 1050 All prices above are inclusive normal installation costs. Your prices seem a bit high especially since your STD units are without the ioniser. You should nego more. Is there anywhere else in Damansara/PJ which can offer better pricing than the above? |

As long it don't move, not leak, nicely done, and cold I am good. All A/C will be install by the contractor doing my a/c conceal piping. I got to buy first than he come do and collect the payment. hehe maybe if i don't ask him install the a/c he will not come collect payment Added on November 3, 2011, 10:25 am QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Nov 3 2011, 10:11 AM) Good price, where the shop? This post has been edited by weikee: Nov 3 2011, 10:25 AM |

If you talk to the wrong guy, you will get quoted prices which are sometimes higher than other shops. But always make sure u do your homework e.g check prices, check specs, etc. Its a very important bargaining tool not just for Legends for anything and everything else.I went there before, but they quote me similar price without installation. I'll check with the person your PM me. Thank you. |

I got trouble in choosing the air-con for my new house. My designer suggest us to install a 3.0 hp cassette air-con in living area. And other places like dining, master, guest room can install 1.0 or 1.5 hp normal air-con. What is the main different between cassette and normal air-con. Will cassette one consume more? Also, I struggle in choosing which brand, York, Mitsubishi, Panasonic ? Below is the price quote in Home Dec. Cassette 3.0 hp (+ need to pay installation fee) York RM 3500 + Mitsubishi RM 3199 + Panasonic RM 3150 + 1.5 hp York Standard 1250, Ion 1380 include installation Mitsubisi Standard 1180+160, Plasma 1399+160 Panasonic Standard 1050+180, Deluxe 1450+180 1.0 hp York Standard 950, Ion 1050 include installation Mitsubishi Standard 799+130, Plasma 1050+130 Panasonic Standard 788+150, Deluxe 999+150 All the above are non-inverter. I am working overseas, so we won't use air-con frequently. But I hope the air-con can keep a good condition and also can use for longer life. Any one can help me. Thousand thanks. |

I was advised that every few months, you should switched on the aircon and let them run.
If the aircon hp were to be based on calculations, it will always be on the higher side. For me, I just use 1hp in all rooms. For the living & dining, just use 1.5hp. Don't need very low temperature. |

QUOTE(beep_beep @ Nov 3 2011, 08:52 PM) I got trouble in choosing the air-con for my new house. Ive given you the prices of the Panasonic aircons in earlier posts. Its much cheaper to get it from Legends SS2. Your prices seem a bit high. Your 1.5HP Pana Deluxe with Ioniser (non inverter) costs RM1630 with installation while i installed mine yesterday for only RM 1380 (all inclusive). My designer suggest us to install a 3.0 hp cassette air-con in living area. Plus i dont think you will need 3HP aircon. Added on November 3, 2011, 9:24 pm QUOTE(kelvyn @ Nov 3 2011, 09:13 PM) I was advised that every few months, you should switched on the aircon and let them run. The problem with using lower hp aircons is that the compressor will need to come on more often to maintain a particular temperature. Thats why sometimes ppl who have installed inverter aircons still complain of high electricity bills. If the aircon hp were to be based on calculations, it will always be on the higher side. For me, I just use 1hp in all rooms. For the living & dining, just use 1.5hp. Don't need very low temperature. BUt if your room is small then a 1.0HP will do. I dont think 1.5HP aircon is sufficient for an open area like the hall unless your hall is really small. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Nov 3 2011, 09:24 PM |
