I have a query regarding Hitachi aircond.
are the both aircond below from Hitachi using DC Inverter system?
RAS-SX10HY - 1.0hp Premium Stainless Clean Air Conditioner
RAS-X10CZ - 1.0hp DC Inverter & Nano Titanium Air Conditioner

anyone has any idea about which one is better among the 2 choices above? which one more faster cooling and energy saving?

Both are the inverter aircon, but the RAS-SX10HY is fully imported from Japan and I think it has heater as well, so should be very pricy.

RAS-X10CZ has one of the highest EER 1HP airconds, which means more energy saving and it has 10000BTU capability, so in a small room, it should have fast cooling effect.

If you turn on the air-cond more than 8 hours daily and willing to set the temperature at 25 degree, get the RAS-X10CZ because it is pretty good in energy saving.

I think their parts should be expensive, but Hitachi air-conds offer two years parts and labor warranty, and compressor is 7 years warranty. which is not really bad at all.

Wao, thanks for the sharing.
Do you know how much it cost for the one you recommend?
I found it from Jusco was RM 1599, kinda pricey....

The hitachi air-cond price is pretty steep, and difficult to see discount, the lowest I saw last time was 1499 but I forgot where I found it.

Anyway, in the long run, it still save your money by using inverter air-cond, so I don't really mind the higher initial cost of inverter air-cond.

BTW, Mitsubishi is as good as Hitachi, and a bit cheaper, although the EER is slightly lower than Hitachi. it also offer two years parts warranty and 7 years compressor warranty.

Argh! So hard to decide....... inverter or non-inverter?? Does it really work? Heard that the difference is not that much.

Also, how many horse power aircond do I need?

My room sizes are about:
1) 294 sq ft (master bedroom)
2) 217 sq ft (2nd bedroom)
3) 171 sq ft (3rd bedroom)
4) 500 sq ft (living room + dining area)

According to this website:

http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=room..._properly_sized

So I need 7000 BTU/h for Master, about 6000 BTU/h for second and third bedrooms, and 12000 BTU/h for the living + dining area.

According to Panasonic aircond specs, a 1.5 HP aircond spec to 12,000 BTU/h already:

http://www.panasonic.com.my/wps/portal/hom...KHCUPC12MKH15HP

So does that mean I don't need to get higher than 1.5 HP aircond?

Inverter aircons should only be used if u intend prolonged use. If u only intend to use the aircon once or twice a week, then just stick to the normal aircons. The price difference for the aircons is not worth the extra paid if compared to the savings achieved.

gennn, I'm planning to install non-inverter in my living room because it will only be switched on once in a while when guests are around. Therefore, I don't foresee the room will get cool enough for the inverter to have an effect (slow down compressor).

Got quoted the following for my house without the copper pipe laying.

Supply & Installation: PANASONIC(STD)
1.0H/P--------RM980
1.5H/P--------RM1300
2.0H/P--------RM2000

Supply & Installation: PANASONIC(INVERTER)
1.0H/P--------RM1350
1.5H/P--------RM1650
Always get quotes based on model numbers. Words can always be mistaken. The best prices ive got so far for Panasonic are:

1) 1.5HP Deluxe Inverter CSS13MKH - RM1600
2) 1.5HP Non Inverter (+Ioniser) CSC12MKH - RM 1400
3) 1.0HP Non Inverter (+Ioniser) CSC9MKH - RM 1050

All prices above are inclusive normal installation costs. Your prices seem a bit high especially since your STD units are without the ioniser. You should nego more.

Is there anywhere else in Damansara/PJ which can offer better pricing than the above?

I got asked. It's 1.0 Inverter RM1330, 1.5 inverter for RM1670. I also went there to ask about my aircon, but did anyone notice the staffs attitude, or is it just me? Like hirau tak hirau when u ask thing. Also didn't bother to put display set for you to see. That left me wondering whether their service (delivering and installation) will be ok or not.

Anyone has experience with them?
Ive got alot of experience buying stuff from Legends SS2. If u want a contact for a good salesman there, PM me for details. Check my earlier post for current aircon pricings. You must always be able to negotiate well with Legends if you want really cheap.
