1HP Non inverter energy saving Panasonic is RM 1k
1.5HP Inverter Panasonic is RM 1.49k

1HP York Energy saving is RM 920.00 (think is G2 Ion)
2HP Yoke Energy saving non inverter is 1.96k (Think is G2 Ion)

All exclude installation.

yeah that is in my mind also, bigger HP pipe can use for smaller HP aircond, but not the other way.....so just asking anyone have similiar experience.

another thing is my living room ceiling height is about 9ft, and the total enclosed living+dining area is roughly 360sqft (12ft x 24ft = 288sqft rectangular area for living+dining, and another 14ft x 3.5ft = 49sqft for corridor to bedrooms, and a small 24sqft for main door entrance attached living room, so total 288+49+24 = 360sqft space)

I search some online BTU/h calculator and found 2 type of answer, some calculator give me roughly 12000+ BTU which means that i need to put a 1.5HP ac, but some website give the calculation like 360x60 (60 is like a 'miracle number to calculate the BTU figure) = 21600BTU which means i need to put a 2HP ac.

the price between 1.5 and 2HP ac really differs a lot (~rm600+), therefore i am confused whether which HP to choose.

FYI ,my kitchen is separated from this area by glass sliding door, and there is only 1 side (roughly 12ft length) of the wall (which is actually a glass sliding door to balcony) is facing South direction. My usage for the ac is only daytime can give me 22-26degC cooling, i am not going to put the ac temperature to below 20degC (like I am staying in north pole, hahaha).

So i really need you sifu-sifu's help about the HP figure....

If you unsure, get bigger hp. Cause it will use less electricity.

Quoted by the aircond guy my electrician recommended.

Panasonic CSC-9MKH (Eco-navi) RM 1180 include installation and 10" of piping.
*
10" = 10 inches.

Think you mean 10' (10 feet)

For aircon sizing, you could try looking here...

http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=room..._properly_sized
*
The sizing on this website very conservative. My current room is about 240sqft, it say 7,000 enough. My current 1HP only "ngam ngam", maybe my ideal temperate is always set to 20c smile.gif

kW                  2.80 (0.84-3.28)
Power Input  760W (225-920)

Any 1 know calcuate the running cost/Hour for 1HP aircond?

Let say the unit price 1KWH = 0.40.
*
Not easy because inverter load depend on temperature set, external temperature, area enclosure, and thermal efficiency of the area you install.

guys..my area roughly about 437 feet..thinking about hitachi 10k btu 1.hp..izzit enough.

thanx
*
437 Square feet you mean? 10kbtu will be working overtime for that area.

Think you need minimal 12,000 btu. Best will be 14,000. Better use 1.5 or 2hp.

What is your definition of small compressor?

Most manufacture website will have the compressor dimension.

Thx, Kelvyn.

I would not share it with other appliances but I won't know if this particular outlet is tapped from other outlets or directly from DB.

Anyway, I will choose one with lowest starting amp, Panasonic seems to have one with 3.6A.
*
Easy, just trip the circuit breaker, see which point is not working.

Hi guys,

I was wondering when these air cond sellers say that their air con price include 10 FEET COPPER PIPING, INSTALLATION, AND WIRING.

Does this mean than the copper pipping and wiring would be concealed?
Will they hack the wall and conceal them?

Just doing some survey before i start enquiring.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
*
No conceal. If you need conceal or box up pay extra.

Then if we want it to be conceal, will those installer able to do it at extra charges? Or we have to rely on contractor to do it?
*
Normally charge by lump some work. Can range from RM 500 to maybe 1K+ per A/C depend the complexity of the job

Don't expect nice wall after conceal. The A/C contractor are not expert in plastering the wall. Some are good, but many are so so only. And prepare to paint the wall yourself too.

200FR, that is lots of A/C piping..

Mine is 6 units, 1x1.5hp inverter, 1x 2hp, 4x 1hp. Can recall if its 3k or 3.5k (Still don't want come collect money).. Hmm not that bad considering they will help install the A/C for me too.
