Front load = Am using Electrolux. Downside is, u get back aches after a while cause you need to bend over to put in the clothes / taking them out.

Top load = Toshiba. My mum used this for the longest time and never seem to have any problem biggrin.gif

I've been using a front loading wm Bompani since 1999, priced at RM1500, still running & doing its job well, twice change the front rubber cost only RM75.

I decided to give this wonderful machine ro my mother in law as hers was broken.

Last week I bought a new Hitachi (Made in Japan) wm front loading 8.5 kg with inverter motor, 3D sensor & hydraulic shock absorber, so silent till I need to check whether it's already running.

I really hope this new wm will last as the previous one.

Advantages of front loading wm: less water consumption, less electricity, fabric last longer, cleaner

Disadvantages: expensive, heavy, need to use low sud detergent

I'm from KB, and I bought the wm from G-Orange,
a big housewares store here. The Hitachi wm model is
BD-W85SV, priced at 2799, the general warranty is 2 years
but the inverter motor is 10 years warranty.
I almost bought Samsung wm, but finally ended up with Hitachi
because of newer tech & made in Japan.

AFAIK, most companies sub to 3rd party, its the same for Panasonic. Their turn around is fast though. Probably if you go for higher end brands like Bosch or Miele, then the company will service you directly.
*
yup they do the servicing by their own team. plus they guarantee to stock parts for up to 10 years after product has been discontinued
also you can get the original part in 48 hours.

Have you actually tried their service? If it is really as what they promise, then I guess its worth spending more on Bosch

nope dont have any Bosch appliances yet but what do you think? Will they or Electrolux lie about such thing?

One thing I know is certain - Samsung uses third party and their service team is unprofessional, to say the least. Also no parts for an appliance that is only few years old. They actually put in a part bought from Jln Pasar to put in my fridge. Its not even a compatible one.

I did not have a good experience with service when i encountered probelms with Panasonic WM. Had to call many tmes before someone would answer my telephone call. Technician came within 2 days, said had to take away WM. I gave specific instructions not to repair until I agree to costs of repairs but after 3 weeks of constant calling, no one called me to give me quote on repairs. Finally I was able to get the name of the technician and telephone number and went I called, he told me noise was due to spoilt bearings in the drum and that repairs done and cost RM500-something. Since WM was already 4 years old and no guarantee or warranty on repairs I said no need to repair, just return back WM and i will use until totally konk.

WM returned after 4 days, but the WM now stinks, there is no more noise, but it also does not spin anymore!!! I have to manually wring my clothes!!!

Call them again?? I don't think so. They may keep the WM for another 3 weeks, and then return it to me with some more problems. Better I go buy new one, and it definitely WILL NOT be a Panasonic. mad.gif

Yes, Panasonic also don't give good service. I had to call many times before my calls are answered, and WM came back with more problems than before. Read more of my experience in the post before this. I will not buy another Panasonic for sure.

Have you guys facing any softener problem like this in your washing machine? It is somekind like wax accumulate slowly in the softener chamber. Eventually it will block the hole and water cannot flow out. It happen around this 2 yrs. The softener I use is Softlan. I didn't try other type as I still have some stock. But So far I remember, there is no such problem last time.

Ozak, if you take out that tray, look into the hole, you will see more of this stuff. The other day for the first time I looked there and I freaked out thinking it was mould.

Anyway I read the user manual and it does say this will happen. I have stop using softener after reading about it. I too, using Softlan.

Btw i finally got some shipping bolts yesterday from TBM. I asked them and they told oh we throw everything away. Duh! No wonder I dont have mine. Anyway they were kind enough to find me three different sets not knowing which one I need.

but i think the long one is what my machine takes

Is it the softener causing the mould? I saw some black spot here and there. In the tray or inside the hole.

The wax is annoying. Got to change the softener and see what happen.

Just try out which bolt is suitable. My 1 is quite big and at least 120mm long.

The black stuff are the mould. Just cause by water I guess.
Try this. Open the door, take a smell near the rubber gasket. Do you smell something moldy? Mine got sad.gif

The rubber gasket has some folds, if you open it up a bit you will see more black mold there. Use rubber gloves and wear face mask to clean it. Hazardous !

Always leave the door open after wash to air it. Try cleaning inside the folds. I hate it sad.gif
