AFAIK, most companies sub to 3rd party, its the same for Panasonic. Their turn around is fast though. Probably if you go for higher end brands like Bosch or Miele, then the company will service you directly.
I did not have a good experience with service when i encountered probelms with Panasonic WM. Had to call many tmes before someone would answer my telephone call. Technician came within 2 days, said had to take away WM. I gave specific instructions not to repair until I agree to costs of repairs but after 3 weeks of constant calling, no one called me to give me quote on repairs. Finally I was able to get the name of the technician and telephone number and went I called, he told me noise was due to spoilt bearings in the drum and that repairs done and cost RM500-something. Since WM was already 4 years old and no guarantee or warranty on repairs I said no need to repair, just return back WM and i will use until totally konk. WM returned after 4 days, but the WM now stinks, there is no more noise, but it also does not spin anymore!!! I have to manually wring my clothes!!!
Call them again?? I don't think so. They may keep the WM for another 3 weeks, and then return it to me with some more problems. Better I go buy new one, and it definitely WILL NOT be a Panasonic.
