Hi,
Anybody is using washer/dryer (2 in 1)? I am thinking to get Electrolux washer/dryer. Any comment about it? The clothes will dry properly? or still need to hang?
Thanks!

Buy separate better. Don't think you can save a lot of money. If lack of space, get the stacking kit so you can put the dryer on top of the washer

1. those 2 in 1 are rather expensive in the first place. with good deals, you can get separate washer and dryer for less or same price 2. the wash load and dry load capacity is not the same although i dunno how that will affect you. does that mean have to remove some clothing before the drying phase? 3. combo units the dryer is using condenser instead of the venting type. some say one is better than the other, some say the same. I dont really know. I'm using the vented kind. I also heard that you need to empty water for condenser type and do some cleaning. My vented dryer already takes a long time to dry a load. I think condenser type will take much longer. Sometimes I wonder why my drying process takes more than an hour.... btw vented type needs a hose (included) to be piped through an open space outside. If you dont have space, no choice - get the combo This post has been edited by idoblu: Jun 26 2013, 01:14 PM |

QUOTE(chanhin @ Mar 3 2013, 02:33 PM) Basically I only need washer function. But think if spend a bit more with dryer function will be handy when I need it... Maybe once a month. Hi,At the end, which model you bought? If I do buy, planning to extend another 4 years warranty. I like LG, with hope that it might be quiet in operation. Here I narrow down to 5 choices; (1) LG WD-CD1412W 14/8kg RM5699 - Over expected budget and never need the capacity. But wonder any benefit like more stable and quiet operation, which can justify the extra cost. (2) LG WD-CD914W 9/6kg RM3499 - So far like it most for the price and requirement, which I think fit the best (3) LG WD-PD8010M only washer 8kg RM2399 - Plain washer... I mean if LG washer/dyrer -> dryer function suck... (4) Electrolux EWW1274 7kg /5 RM2799 - Safe choice with nothing special. Concern about spinning noise as usual... (5) Electrolux 11kg pure washer - Safe choice, but expected noise due to normal belt system. Do appreciate your comments and past experinces. I am also looking for front loaded washer + dryer and short listed Electrolux EWW1273 (with JetSpray function) RM2799 from Harvey Norman. Want to ask others too, usually this kind of 2 in 1 system reliable or not? |

I will buy combo one. But in fact you are true, price is same either u add it up together, or buy separately. |

Cause when dryer run, the cloth need to tumbling around to get the moist and water out. So I need to get some cloth out if I wash full load. (most of the time) 2) When I put it to auto run, the drying process include spinning. In my case, it spin at max 1200rpm. Which is scary. I have to turn it to other mode drying that don't have spinning. I run auto mode when washing comforter. |

You can buy any size.So if buy separate, the dryer can put up to 12KG clothes? But if you want big size, got to use gas type already. If not the bill can kill you. |

QUOTE(philipcs @ Jun 26 2013, 02:38 PM) Hi,At the end, which model you bought? At the end, I found LG 13/7 Combo. It is so much quiet as compare to Electrolux. And my wife love it so much.I am also looking for front loaded washer + dryer and short listed Electrolux EWW1273 (with JetSpray function) RM2799 from Harvey Norman. Want to ask others too, usually this kind of 2 in 1 system reliable or not? However, I thought having bought a larger washer can help reduce the washing freq, but I am wrong. End up my wife keep having something to wash... Electricity going to be some problem later... The dryer function wise, only use about 4 times... Working flawlessly, except combined time is a bit long... After watching a MKV still have to wait for an hour. Do note that do not put those melt able stuff... Example: Some shirt button actually can melt one... |

QUOTE(nikrizal @ May 22 2013, 02:53 AM) I'm from KB, and I bought the wm from G-Orange, nikrizal, thanks for sharing. Share more also...a big housewares store here. The Hitachi wm model is BD-W85SV, priced at 2799, the general warranty is 2 years but the inverter motor is 10 years warranty. I almost bought Samsung wm, but finally ended up with Hitachi because of newer tech & made in Japan. Check out this Hitachi HK video in promoting it's vibration absorbing features. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYEF2rbPAVhH-S-HQK4ItiA To save time, here's google translate from Chinese with some easy reading edits in [brackets]: Hitachi BIG DRUM 510 Front Drum washing machine BD-W85SV, in addition [to clean clothes, powerful features, stabler and quiet technology, it's distinguished by its unique fourfold feature]: 1. 4 fluid[-filled weight balancer] 2. [Limousine class] hydraulic suspension device 3. [56-]pole Direct Drive Inverter Motor 4. Quiet chassis design <-- I think its referring to the noise-cancellation wave design side panels ala Panasonic 10kg washer [Doing] laundry is no longer [a noisy affair, making housework simple and enjoyable] [Demo call invite from video....] Either this or 12kg samsing eco-bubble..... bulk washing in 60x60x85cm...no need to retrofit laundry area plus 100% load upgrade from 6kg. I was keen on the 13/7 LG but decided against that having heard from one or two users of increase washing time if dryer is used vs separate dryer plus the increase wear of the rubber seals vs separate washer and dryer. Cannot stand long washing + drying time. Preference is to wash then dry separately. Space saving yes and if can improve on this issue maybe can consider.... All the front loader WM take longer time to wash compare top loader. Of cause the combo take longer time if add in the drying mode. Compare only WM. It is washing+dryer. There is no different time even you buy separately. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Jun 30 2013, 05:43 PM) I don't remember got any issue with combo type from ppl using in here. You have a valid point. Perhaps, maybe they don't mind. But hearing it from a dual income with kids family who wash loads on weekends and drying on a 7/5 well may be its because there's more load to wash. Hence here a 13/7 makes sense. All the front loader WM take longer time to wash compare top loader. Of cause the combo take longer time if add in the drying mode. Compare only WM. It is washing+dryer. There is no different time even you buy separately. Well, I don't know but if waiting to wash a separate load while drying is happening, maybe prioritizing loads may solve the issue... the issue is how much time is spent laundrying and drying laundry. The main question is whether a user planning on W+D can afford to wait up on the load that's drying before the next load. It's not obvious when spreading washes and drying apart but on ocassion in the days before LG 13/7 in the market and what not with more than 5 family members, these things do factor in. In other words, the question should be framed as in cases of multiple loads whether it is preferred for washing and drying to happen separately (and simultaneously as in wash first load then dry while washing second load). The 13/7kg perhaps solve this issue for large loads. Regular usage of W+D do wear out the rubber seals faster in the older generation W+D... This scenario is when there's limited drying space in the dry area hence necessitating a W+D. No offense to W+D users, but just some practical issues to consider in every buyer's mind.
