I've been using a front loading wm Bompani since 1999, priced at RM1500, still running & doing its job well, twice change the front rubber cost only RM75.

I decided to give this wonderful machine ro my mother in law as hers was broken.

Last week I bought a new Hitachi (Made in Japan) wm front loading 8.5 kg with inverter motor, 3D sensor & hydraulic shock absorber, so silent till I need to check whether it's already running.

I really hope this new wm will last as the previous one.

Advantages of front loading wm: less water consumption, less electricity, fabric last longer, cleaner

Disadvantages: expensive, heavy, need to use low sud detergent

I'm from KB, and I bought the wm from G-Orange,
a big housewares store here. The Hitachi wm model is
BD-W85SV, priced at 2799, the general warranty is 2 years
but the inverter motor is 10 years warranty.
I almost bought Samsung wm, but finally ended up with Hitachi
because of newer tech & made in Japan.

My mom's Panasonic lasted 13 years, she then bought another Panasonic.

Me, myself trust Hitachi.

Hi,

I want to share my experience using Hitachi FL model BD-W85SV.

It's an inverter model and bought it back in 2013.

Last month it started spinning loudly and I knew straight away the bearing is gone. I email Hitachi asking for the availability of spare part. To my surprise, they replied stating that the bearing is part of the inverter motor which comes with 10 year warranty and they'll replace the motor for free.

The Hitachi technician then came to my house, telling me that I'm very lucky because the spare part worth almost RM800 and still available for this old model.

So guys, make sure you register for the warranty and choose a good brand smile.gif

That's a lot of magnet coils at the back. Good to know, thks. Mine coming to 7-8 years. Had to replace PCB board because button was pressed too hard but the board still generally ok. Door lock for the same reason because main user didn't know that pause button must be used to reopen.

Sump pump last year also because of mould from softener overuse which we have stopped using. Now have to cuci with washing machine cleaner powder from Oust or Daiso. It generally can take a beating.

Thank God mine is this ok except for that inverter motor. I also now frequently wash the tub (once every month, or two months).
Hope this machine will last another 5 years. My next washing machine will still be the front load, but not sure about the brand as there are now so many options.

I’m using Hitachi BD-W85SV, the eighth year now. Still fine & strong, inverter motor replaced by warranty last year. I’m hoping it’ll last for another 3 years. Then thinking of getting different brand. Before this, I’ve been using Bompani brand which lasted 14 years.

Anybody have been using more than 10 years for any particular brand? I don’t mind less tech, I prefer long lasting 😊. Thanks

My 10 year 8.5kg Hitachi is still working but the damper has gone very bad and it vibrates too much during spin. I took the opportunity during Lazada sale last week, ending up buying 15kg LG-F2515STGW. Anyone uses this model? Mind to share your feedbacks? Many thanks smile.gif

Does LG & Samsung wm as good as panasonic?

I have shortlisted these 3 models:
LG F2515STGW - 15KG
Samsung WF17T6000GW/FQ - 17KG
Panasonic NA-V11FX2LMY - 11KG (last choice if only LG or Samsung not as good as Pana)

Anyone have bad experience with LG or Samsung wm?

I just replaced my 10 year old Hitachi wm (8.5kg) with LG-F2515stgw 20 days ago. So far so good, very quiet, and it’s an IOTs, perfectly welcomed to my smart home. Hope it’ll last at least 10 years

LG direct drive front load with IoT. I throw my laundry in at night, schedule to complete when I wake up.

So I wake up, done with brush teeth, wash face, go down can take clothes out d.

Yes, I seldom do this too. This can avoid unnecessary prolonged exposure of moist & water to rubber parts in wm which in long term can cause mould which is damaging and grossly to eyes.

Leave the door of the front loader open after washing.

No mold. The water will dry out

Yes, also the detergent drawer
