Hi,
I'm surveying a washing machine now, and with my budget (less than 1.8k) for a front load washing machine, I'm targeting Electrolux 7kg Washer (EWF85761). Any comment on this model ?
http://www.rakuten.com.my/shop/bestdenki/product/EWF85761/

Or is there any other recommended front load washing machine with this budget ?
Thanks!

blue_scott, Hitachi running promo from May for 10 year warranty since May 2013. They have front load 7.5, 8.5 kg. Inverter motor. Quite water and energy saving as shown here. 8.5kg 1000rpm is going for RM1999. It's in today's Star.

They have a 7.5 kg. Price advertised here.

A word of advise: I have used a 850rpm washer and the clothes don't come out that dry as when clothes are spun at 1000rpm. They tend to take a longer time to dry due to the excess water to evaporate and in wet season they smell. With anything lower than 1000rpm, a dryer is needed unless there's regular sunshine and they are dried under the sun. With 1000rpm and above, the times for needing a dryer if hung indoors is less.

Hi, thanks for the advise. Are you using Hitachi front load washing machine? I'm looking for a durable one, and looks like Electrolux is recommended, that's why my survey scope is mostly is on Electrolux only.

I see. Will see if there is any other better recommendation from other forumers or not. If no, then I will get this Time Manager. Thanks for the sharing.

I thought electrolux is the best for front load washer until i visited BEST , then the sales person introduced me to http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/home-ap.../WD906U4SAGD/SP

THis saves a lot more electricty and takes only <1hour per reqular wash, not sure if he simply say or what..

Hi blue_scott, not yet but what makes me survey anew is electricity consumption and water usage. The Hitachi is known for frugality on both counts. 6.1-6.3 litres /kg load and Annual consumption btw 170-340kW/h per year depending on whether its inverter direct drive or conventional. The links in my earlier post shows them. Also Hitachi is running a promo since May this year and giving 10 year warranty on the inverter series. If you're in PJ, certain places like 88 Electrical (formerly MG Electronics) in SS2 could shave off /save.

Nowaday Samsung very fast on coming out technology. Even their fridge also use digital inverter.
Electrolux is an old brand and reputable company for washing machine. if compare with both of them, i will still choose Electrolux. Planning to get 7kg (electrolux).

just get a fagor 8kg f-4814 washing machine since electrolux is way out of my budget. the drawback of getting europe brand and import machine is the plug and water host head is bigger so have to spend money on this.
will post review soon.

Some places can be cheaper like SS2 88 Electronics.

But do note that the EWF10842 is deeper than conventional 8 kg washers at 665mm. Unless the washing machine placement has restriction like fixed build-in or cramped spaces then shouldn't be an issue.

One criteria I use (may not necessarily be applicable for others) usually is nothing out of the 85c60x60cm dimension as it would fit anywhere...under special purpose laundry cabinetry, under and beside kitchen sinks and tight dry areas. Samsung 12kg Ecobubble and the even Panasonic 10kg are within such sizes since it's catered for apartment use like under and beside kitchen sink etc.

LOL, hopefully electricity don't rise to the extend we have to use manual methods...

Btw, here is a additional information done by experts to know some differences between front loader & top loader washing machine
Washing Machine Test Method Info

Added on July 28, 2008, 1:44 amSeems the top brand in year 2007 is LG
Here is the link for JD Power Survey

In case u r considering a front load washing machine, which has a chance of water overflowing, please consider creating a plith to raise adjacent appliances like the fridge.
This happened to us once, See the plith details here
