Hello, is anyone using LG washtower here? can share any problem with this unit? My wife like this model so much but idk it's good or not. also my concern is when either washer or dryer is kaput, are they change the whole uni or just replace either one only. I saw at LG website said they cant be use separately so this like -1 to me if anything happens to the wsher/dryer.

Pros:
✅ Cantik. Seriously aesthetic. Especially the 14/10 model although not everyone can accept green-white combo.
✅ Gentle on clothing. Washer dryer both treat my clothes very gently compared to other mid range machines I've used before.
✅ The heat pump dryer means the area doesn't heat up like normal vented, but it's faster than normal condenser dryer. Claims to be more energy efficient (from my monitoring, it's sort of true but depends on your clothing material whether quick dry or slow to dry)
✅ Cantik, the smooth matte exterior very aesthetic.
✅ LG thinQ app is nice to use to control/monitor the washtower remotely. Phone will notify you when a cycle is complete. You can also custom make your own cycle, remotely control the cycle, start/stop remotely etc.
✅ The dryer got smart function where it matches the preset of the washer cycle, so no need to do complicated setup to remember what preset you used before.
✅ Cantik. Just really nice looking 😍
✅ Super duper quiet. Don't hear the drums vibrate and spin like in normal washer/dryer.
✅ Space saving and more user-friendly to vertically-challenged people compared to stacking seperate dryer on washer 😬 because all the controls are around 90cm from floor, for both washer and dryer
✅ Did I mention it's cantik?

Cons:
❌ MAHAL GILA NEED TO SELL FIRSTBORN CHILD
❌ For the price, you can get very premium washer and dryer separately that can perform equal or better. All the above fancy functionality you can get in separate machine (except for the synced cycle presets)
❌ As you concerned, the machines are housed in one casing. They are technically two machines put in one case while sharing one control board, but if one side rosak then it'll probably be hell to replace
❌ Seriously, super expensive for what you get.

===

In my personal opinion and as a buyer, only buy it if you cannot afford space to stack separate machines/want a sleek look AND can afford to pay the premium price tag. The premium is in the appearance design and the combined functionality, with a bit of space saving.

In terms of pure function vs value, I don't think this is a good choice.

If you rather have more direct control over maintenance and have the space, buy separately.

Man u just normally mention cantik 3 times, if my wife saw this confirm she dont read rest of the point biggrin.gif kinda agree on the design, look aesthetic and minimalist for me.
How long have u been using this machine? so far no problem?
My house quite small thats why looking for stack WM to save some space. For the price now reduce from 10k to 7.5k, u think its worth it or better get separate? If 10k ofcouse i will get separate but now down to 7.5k kinda tempting to get it tongue.gif
anyways thanks for sharing pro n cons

Not long, less than a year. So far no issues with the use or function.

I enjoy the fact that it's super quiet and doesn't produce heat compared to my old vented Electrolux dryer.

I do agree if you able to get nego price down at shops to match online pricing of RM7.5k and get free delivery, it's actually an ok deal especially if you want the smart function+heat pump dryer. You can get cheaper combo buys if willing to consider Chinese brands like Midea or Haier, but other more "famous" brands if you buy heat pump and similar smart features, it's few hundred ringgit cheaper but lacks the aesthetic and convenience. The size will also be bigger (15kg washer and 10kg dryer usually quite big), so combined stack still eat more space.

LG also doing promo so with the TNG reload pin, it's a good price including the rebate: https://www.lg.com/my/promotions/merdeka-promo-2024

Saw LG offering the latest 10.5kg washer and 9kg dual inverter heat pump dryer on a rental basis at rm130/month for both, for 5 years lock in. But in a way it's like a 5-year instalment payment scheme.

got it fixed by technician (supported by LG) by replacing the water sensor. cost me rm95 for that unit + rm110 inspection fee

btw, how to reduce or remove the lint especially on black shirts? i cleaned the washer with baking soda, etc but my clothes still will get the lint sticked

Eyeing for this 2 model F2515STGW (15kg) & F2515RTGB (15/8kg), is it better to get a washer/dryer or just purely washer will do?
F2515STGW cost about 2.5k, consider a good deal?

I dont think that is lint... more like washing powder. Why dont you try adjusting the water level one level higher than the recommended one or switch to detergent.

else can try put your cloth in a laundry bag.

Anyone using front load at balcony with direct sunlight? Does the sunlight degrade the rubber seal faster?

As someone who hasn't grown pass my goth phase but needs light clothes for work 🤣 best practice is to wash darks with darks and for clothes that are particularly lint absorbing kind, put them in laundry bag so they don't catch lint from the drum or other clothes

Lint is loose fibres, so baking soda doesn't do anything to them.

anyone knows if we can support a standard front load 7-10kg washing machine power if plugged via surge protector or extension cord? most of the extension cords seems to able to do up to 10A 2500W but i heard washer is best paired with 15-20A?

i want to park the washer on other side of yard wall, but opposite end is the only available wall socket sweat.gif

trying to see if we can arrange extension cords before hacking wall for more sockets

I don't know any new tech in washer dryer combo but I think if you need a dryer, then get separate unit.

If the unit faulty, you cannot do both wash and dry. smile.gif

Dry max load is usually less than Wash max load. So, if you want to use dry mode to the max, you probably can wash about half the max wash load. Otherwise, you need to dry your wash load twice.

You cannot wash and dry at the same time like if you want to hand wash light clothing. You have to wait for washing to finish and only can dry. Otherwise you can dry something while washing the rest of your dirty clothes.

I dunno about that but I've been using my 10kg washer with normal 13A wall socket for probably 10 years with no problem

Cheap extension cable use cable probably just enough to carry the max current. Buy one with thick cable. Anyway, it is no harm to buy higher rating extension. There is benefit when doing so. The 3 pin plug wire inside the wall can carry more than 20A current actually even though the MCB is rated at 20A.

If you run wire near its max current load for long period of time, the wire will get warm. Over time the insulator might become hardened and fail. A good socket will have firm contact to plug pin. If the contact is loose, then resistance at contact point will be high. Running high current through this poor contact, the resistance converts current to heat. This is the normal cause of fire on extension wire and it is also the same reason even for wall socket. It is always good to have headroom (extra buffer) for for current flow.
