thumbup.gif . Currently using a 2 in 1 machine - Electrolux 7kg/5kg model (*washer + dryer). Before this was using Elba top loader.

Front loader well known much more 'gentle' in washing but need to ensure use the low suds soak...

is it a latest model? or quite some time already in the market?

I have both quilt covers and comforters...so still have to wash large loads.  On top of that, curtains too.

We chose Panaosic because of the control panel. Well, expect it to last 5 years trouble free because I paid for the extended warranty.  For 16kg, it s quite gentle and so easy to use.  I am using the sensor for most loads.... Just on, then start (2 buttons only) unless I am washing comforters... then On, choose comforter, choose water level, and add spin/rinse as required.  The link trap is a plastic case, no more stupid lint bags which break and impossible to replace.  We paid extra Rm320 for the extended warranty... still waiting for the cert 1+4 years.  Total is about Rm2120...for 5 years... Rm400 a year?  If it last longer than that, it is a bonus.

We chose Panasonic because of the control panel which is situated at the back instead of front.  I dont need fantastic among of programs as I hardly use them.  Most important, the control panel has to be at the back and only Panasonic have that.  Why the control panel at the back is important for top loader?

It is logical.  All american top loaders have their control panels at the back because you need a free space to load and unload your laundry.  If you soak your laundry in a pail before washing, you will have to pour in the laundry, risk og wetting the control panel.  Leaning a heavy pail on top of the control board is NOT a good idea.

If you have a front loader, the control board is always on top in the front because it allows you to push your washer under the counter or place a dryer on top.  Loading wet laundry into the front dryer wont wet the control board.

I dont like front loaders because I have to bend down and I cant adjust the load without draining out the water first....cant add a sock or two or take out laundry halfway.  Top loader are better for me, and water is not an issue here.

Panasonic has been very quiet and doing well.  So far happy with it.

I'm currently using the 14KG version. May I know what do u meant by it has been very quiet?
Care to explain are there any agitating/grinding noise during washing process as well as helicopter like noise during spinning process? Thanks for the feedback.

Of course it is not quite during spinning. I mean it is relatively quiet. As it is placed at the back of my house. the noise doesnt bother me....no loud noise...just normal spinning noise.

I hv always regard Panasonic as a good brand. With a smaller n more enclosed drying yard in my future condo unit, I will stick to my 7kg Panasonic Top loader for normal laundry, bulky items such as bed linens quilt covers n curtains it's best to send to a launderette, save all d hassle dat goes with it lol:).

The Bos also recommend me take Electrolux, but the 7kg/5kg I think not enough use. If I need to wash the comforter, I think cannot. So I consider LG 10.5/6kg.

I hate my free Samsung front loader very much.
Staying in a place that using Samsung appliances. Air cond very noisy, WM that also very noise after 2 years of usage.
The WM that I'm using has many functions, washing time from fastest 28 minutes to 2 hours. Tried both mode and the result are just same.
So my theory on a WM is just pour water, pour detergent, spin and drain still stands.

Is good to have a WM that can dance other than spin, get it by all means.
But my thinking are still in the 90's, so I will just get a WM that only can put water, spin and drain.
My old timer WM going to clock 9 years soon and still standing strong.
