Lets compare both top loader (AJ-S80MX) and front loader (BD-W80MV) from Hitachi (source from the URL below)

Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Hong Kong

Brand--------Model------------------Annual Energy (kWh/Yr)------Water Consumption
HITACHI-----AJ-S80MV(8kg)-------40.3 (3.36 per month)---------127.7 (20 cycle = 2554l)
HITACHI-----BD-W80MV(8kg)------159(13.25 per month)---------48(20 cycle = 960l)

*base on Monthly Energy 13.25kWh = 20 cycle as cotton cycle around 0.68 kWh according to manual.
I) conclusion is TL use 1/4 Energy compare to FL but TL use 3X Water compare to FL.

II) so convert to dollar and cents in Selangor 1000 litre = RM0.57 so TL = RM1.46 and FL = RM0.55

III) 1 kWh = RM0.128 so TL = RM0.43 and FL = 1.7

IV) Total TL = RM1.89 and FL = RM2.25 per month (20 cycle)

V) personally I prefer FL as it's more gentle to clothing, my mom also notice the same as we switch from FL -> TL then back to FL  tongue.gif

VI) as for cost saving it's not that much different just 0.36 cents or 0.018 cents per cycle,  but the investment cost TL definitely cheaper than FL.  rclxms.gif

hope this one help.  wink.gif

Is the front loading machine running a cold wash or warm wash (40 degC), if warm wash then the heater is the culprit in energy consumption for the front loading machine.

If you have budget for W85SV why not consider EWF10932? If not mistaken both almost the same price.

If you are a heavy user, once a month pour a cup of bleach into the dispenser, then run the washing machine on its hottest cycle (90C).

You can get a descaler pack from Daiso. Few mth pour 1 packet inside and wash. Clean the detergent compartment and the outlet filter too.

Always leave the door open to air dry.

Hey guys, just bought (but not yet delivered) Beko washer and (condenser) dryer. Both were on offer for RM3,499.

The models are:

Washer - WCY71232HPTL
Dryer - DPU7440W

These were supposedly upgraded from the older models

WCB71241PTL
DCU7230W

Any tips/opinions on maintenance and good user habits ?

Many thanks.

Senheng Electrolux Front Loading Washer ELE-EWF10932 - RM2,949.00

i went to a local shop (not those big chain store like courts/senheng),
they quote me EWF12732 for RM2000 but no stock
the shop recommend me to take EWF10842for RM24xx

then i saw senheng got promotion for W85SV, RM2499 for member

so the major differences is W85SV and EWF10932 have direct inverter drive while EWF12732 and EWF10842 dont have direct inverter drive. size wise is EFW10932 (9KG) > W85SV (8.5KG) > EWF10842 (8KG) > EWP12732 (7KG) and all of them have large door

You need big door for what? Keep a baby inside?
TL small boy can't climb in while FL will be subjected to this, considering parents now like their child to be hyper active by feeding them all sort of artificial nutrients.

If you stay in klang valley area try this one

Jintex Electronics

He offer EWF10932 for RM2450

too bad he don't have Hitachi FL.

don't go for SSP it's not inverter direct drive. can refer to this Hitachi Catalog

W85SV have white, black and metalic grey rolleyes.gif

i see
the local store told me hitachi has no service center in KK
but when i called hitachi customer service they told me got service center here and they gave me the phone number as well (havent try to call them though) hmm.gif

so your water outlet hole is right below your WM?
the water outlet hole in my drying yard is about 6-7 feet away from the WM place (weird+fail placement by the developer doh.gif )
i'm thinking either use PVC pipe connect the WM outlet pipe to let the water run to the hole (longer distance) or drill a hole and let the water go through the toilet sink outlet/outlet hole (shorter distance as the WM will be placed right outside the toilet)
