bit concern about the drum capacity BD-W85SV just 8.5 kg wonder can fit the windows curtain?

If you want a lot of buih then get Samsung Eco bubble tongue.gif a lot of bubble for you rclxms.gif

Inverter and direct drive two separate features. Inverter motor but not necessarily inverter direct drive.

Bosch newer models has quieter brushless dc motor (BLDC) that it touts to be quiter and -30% energy consuming. Electrolux 2012 models already have inverter but may not be direct drive esp the 10kg one.

I recommend and lean towards separate washer and dryer. No joke, wash load reduced to dryer capacity then dry takes a long long while 3-4 hours. If got other loads have to wait. If insisting of a combo, the LGWD-1279RDS7 17/9kg would be the one to go for large family loads at only 5.2l/kg as shown here

If you want efficient dryer, Panasonic 8kg and Electrolux 9kg uses 900W with heat pump condensing dryer vs 2700-2800W of condenser dryers. That can be off the same plug as the washer whereas if using the 2700W it has to be separately dedicated 13A if washer and dryer are used simultaneously. Boschalso has an 8kg condenser dryer that's quite energy saving.

Hitachi I can vouch its 42db during spin cycle relative to older conventional washers and definitely reduced my water usage per month. Also has tub clean function.

If you want to compare water usage and electricity usage look for it at either SG PUB or HK EMD energy and water labeling scheme site. This info convinced me to get the Hitachi 8kg front loader with inverter direct drive.

which model you using? can share how is the performance?

Report report just received my Hitachi W85SV today (although suppose to be yesterday but thing happened), run two cycle so far, first is the cotton circle without any clothing suggest by the manual to rinse out residue and water during manufacturing, everything is ok, the pump definitely not silence and during high speed spinning 1200rpm is like jet engine sound (similar sound but not as loud as jet engine).

after I watched the video someone posted here for Samsung below, compare to W85SV, W85SV sound a lot better as samsung seem louder and high pitch noise.

Second cycle I wash 5 long sleeve shirts, 5 t-shirts, 1 short pant, 4 single bed sheets, 4 pillow cases, 1 bolster case and 2 towels at once using cotton cycle tongue.gif washing cycle very silent as usual I think this is common with most of the modern washing machine motor nowadays, rinse cycle pump noisy, spin cycle like jet engine sound.

vibration wise although it never dance tongue.gif but during the spin cycle at 1200rpm it's not as good as the video show below If I stack the wine glass like the one in the video on my W85SV I am sure it will fall, maybe because of 4 bed sheets I throw inside hard to balance.

will report more once I run more cycle on this machine.

BD-W80MV - Japan imported. 1400rpm spin is not loud by my definition as compared to older non-inverter belt driven motor.

Tip: Just use the forum feature 'Show post by this member only' to read up on earlier posts.
*
I uploaded a video I don't know whether this consider loud or not.

I put up a glass of water can see the vibration through the water, the pump on and off the whole video can hear clearly, at the end of the video the spinning noise like not balance vibrate a lot.

Looks like it is still new?
Such test I can say are useless for new WM.
Should test it after few years.
*
Not really useless. It's can serve as a guideline on how the machine is perform before you buy the actual thing or you can compare with different model or different brand machine that you have.

louder, quieter, less vibration? etc.

for long lasting of the product of course this video is not for that purpose.

My Toshiba TL only starts to give excessive vibration after 7 years, that's 3 days after the warranty shakehead.gif
To ensure the WM can serve you long, make sure when washing big item stuff, don't add others.
And because my WM already "old", when washing big item, it tends to tilted 1 side which will hold the spin step.
*
If this Hitachi can last 7 years+ without giving me problem I'm more than happy de. tongue.gif

Just register my e-warranty Hitachi give 2 years + additional 6 months if register on-line. blink.gif

btw I found the final spin for Panasonic VG4 as comparison.

Is your laundry area enclosed such that the noise during the spin cycle is reflected around? I'll video mine next week during the final spin cycle and compare.

Please also PM the items you washed and I'll see if I can emulate an equivalent.

LOL, the above statement sounds like we're sharing laundry list.
*
I just wash five shirts with colours program when I took this video.

the laundry area is in the kitchen.

btw is your pump as noisy as the one I have?

Just did window shopping at SenQ while my wife doing her shopping in Jusco.
See the price of Electrolux FL, most of the models starting price are > rm23** and capacity of 7-8KG. And see that they are boasting that it only consume 8-8.5l water per kg. So it uses maximum of 68l of water under full load.
Then I check out current TL models, a 10kg only cost rm13**-14** and uses 60-70l of water.
So when comparing both on full load, TL actually save more water as 1kg only need 6-7l of water.
Electrolux FL do have a model that uses 7.5l, but it cost rm35**.
So to save 0.5l of water I need to pay extra rm1000. If I wash daily, 30 days run I only save 0.5*3(wash and rinse 3 times)*30=45l of water. In Seremban, 1000l of water only cost rm0.50.
*
Lets compare both top loader (AJ-S80MX) and front loader (BD-W80MV) from Hitachi (source from the URL below)

Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Hong Kong

Brand--------Model------------------Annual Energy (kWh/Yr)------Water Consumption
HITACHI-----AJ-S80MV(8kg)-------40.3 (3.36 per month)---------127.7 (20 cycle = 2554l)
HITACHI-----BD-W80MV(8kg)------159(13.25 per month)---------48(20 cycle = 960l)

*base on Monthly Energy 13.25kWh = 20 cycle as cotton cycle around 0.68 kWh according to manual.

I) conclusion is TL use 1/4 Energy compare to FL but TL use 3X Water compare to FL.

II) so convert to dollar and cents in Selangor 1000 litre = RM0.57 so TL = RM1.46 and FL = RM0.55

III) 1 kWh = RM0.128 so TL = RM0.43 and FL = 1.7

IV) Total TL = RM1.89 and FL = RM2.25 per month (20 cycle)

V) personally I prefer FL as it's more gentle to clothing, my mom also notice the same as we switch from FL -> TL then back to FL tongue.gif

VI) as for cost saving it's not that much different just 0.36 cents or 0.018 cents per cycle, but the investment cost TL definitely cheaper than FL. rclxms.gif

hope this one help. wink.gif

P/S FL use more energy it's because of heater or hot water you can always select cold wash if you want to save the power smile.gif

10 unit of power expensive or 1600l of water cheap whistling.gif
Not to mention time needed for FL need compare to TL rclxub.gif
As old man said : time = money.
If because of using FL I need to wait 0.5 hour more especially during spring cleaning time need to wash multiple laundries, by the time I complete all, the sun going to say bye bye already doh.gif
And if talk about ergonomics, FL fail as we need to bend down to take out laundries. Not good for back for long term shakehead.gif Again, additional cost will be needed on visiting a doctor and taking medicine.
*
Talking about bend down TL also need to bend when you unload the laundry to reach the bottom of the drum just that when you load the laundry you can just throw in.

For FL you can always squat or knee or sit down instead of bend down.

The time spend is not an issue for me as spring cleaning just once in the blue moon and it always take few days. In normal day I just wash 1 week once everything throw in during night time set the timer tomorrow wake up I can just directly hang dry the laundry.

My mom used to have the National FL last 20 years lolz

After the National FL died she bought Toshiba TL still using, my mom complaints it is not gentle to the cloth as it tangle and have flur like thingy after few wash, chinese said (起毛).

After I leave my family I bought myself TL also notice my towel also got holes faster and tangle of my long sleeve shirt (usually wash 5 at once)

After I move to new house I give my TL to my housemate coz I fed up with TL haha.

Senheng Electrolux Front Loading Washer ELE-EWF10932 - RM2,949.00

i went to a local shop (not those big chain store like courts/senheng),
they quote me EWF12732 for RM2000 but no stock
the shop recommend me to take EWF10842for RM24xx
then i saw senheng got promotion for W85SV, RM2499 for member
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

so the major differences is W85SV and EWF10932 have direct inverter drive while EWF12732 and EWF10842 dont have direct inverter drive. size wise is EFW10932 (9KG) > W85SV (8.5KG) > EWF10842 (8KG) > EWP12732 (7KG) and all of them have large door
ewf12022 is beyond my budget smile.gif
but i know it's good machine
*
blacky? Mine W85SV metallic grey tongue.gif

then get the W85SV if you don't mind the noise of the pump

It's not super loud just that not as quiet as I may expect tongue.gif
