QUOTE(supersound @ Feb 7 2014, 04:50 PM) BTW, just some guide for you, Bigger WM do have many advantage. And it is all the time. if you are a family for 4, even a 10KG will be enough. 1 matress can fit in to 10KG WM and some small items. But just a stupid question : how often you wash matress? 2 weeks or 1 month once only. Getting bigger do have some advantages some times, but not all the time you will be using full load(this can kill the WM faster). I brought a FL 12kg combo WM not base on how many person. My minimum spec is, the drum must able to chuck in the comforter. Mostly able to wash comforter is start from 12kg for FL. And must have this wash function mode too. Many don't have this washing mode. That put the lifespan at risk. Bigger WM can reduce my frequent wash. I only wash once a week due to bigger drum. 5x a month include comforter. That save water, electricity and the WM lifespan. Anpther save is the detergent. 5kg of detergent last me a yrs. My bill doesn't increase much with this 12kg WM. That include sometime using the dryer too. mostly for comforter. RM65-70 for electricity and water still is free. Never pay a sen for water since many yrs. |

Well, my TL 10KG JVC WM that is the most simple function already used for 8 years and still standing strong. Do I need many types of washing mode? Nope, as at the end, the WM still using water, spin, drain and spin again. Or you want to say your FL can jump also?I brought a FL 12kg combo WM not base on how many person. QUOTE(H2D @ Feb 8 2014, 03:24 AM) wf-hx120gv rrp = rm1999 When it comes to big ticket items, TV, fridge and washing machines, probably the more likely to fail these days would be TV and washing machines. TV due to the amount of electronics, washing machines due to the mechanical stress from usage. To compound it, the newer WM models these days tend to fail earlier, also because of the additional electronics. All the shops I went to tell me the same story that PCBs tend to fry. quote from some shops... The first WM I used was a FL Electrolux Washer Dryer (probably bought around 1997) and it was still going strong when I moved out in 2013. A complete lack of fancy electronics was the probably reason These days I'm not too sure yet but I bought an extra warranty package on those items just in case... BTW, I'll ditch that comforter and use that comforter cover only. This is how I reduce my electric another rm30-40 a month. |

QUOTE(supersound @ Feb 8 2014, 01:49 PM) There's actually a way to fit comforter covers. Some manufacturers especially from Japan will recommend folding it as if making a Chinese fold out fan. The loose ends on both sides always point inwards. Comforter/Duvet/doona itself has different filling so need to wash according to manufacturer's laundry directions. Some dry clean only, some need drying in the sun. But have to be careful. There are reported incidents of users dying from suffocation as they were overcame by fumes of chemicals used in dry cleaning process many years back overseas. Some comforter fillings cannot take to water as they might change form after that. Anyway something interesting to share: fleece blankets. They are quite amazing. Use the longish hair side on the inside, it will keep the body warm. Turn it the other way round, it wicks heat out on a hot night. Don't understand why but that's what I discovered by accident. Bought one at [update:Home Harmony] One Utama and quite like it. This post has been edited by halcyon27: Feb 10 2014, 10:53 AM |

Cotton duvet/comforter/doona cover yes. But the actual duvet/comforter/doona made from cotton insulation, well one I have seen are like parallel joint sections filled with cotton wool which can clump. I had one as a free gift from an appliance and they are like that. Those of down feather maybe not as bad. Actually, what you say is the correct response to our local weather. Cotton blanket or light comforter cover cukup already. |

At the end, we got our lung weaker (doctor happier) and TNB gain more. Not to mention cleaning the comforter(it cost me another rm1 each time I wash it)Actually, what you say is the correct response to our local weather. Once a month eat a Kobe steak meal at Gardens is better than contribute money to those blood sucker CEO's new mistress or new Merc S600. |
