i got a borsch, fried the controlled board cost RM300 to fix ... ouch.

you better check the spare part for the unit you buy first. just google online for parts price and compare them.

Those boards usually failed after 2-3 years. And if you got those older models, you no need to change the whole board and can be repaired.
But those comes with fancy functions it can't be repaired and you need to change the whole board.

so.. i ended up with a LG tl...

wit a 3k budget n considered TL FL...

my own reasons..

FL
- way heavier
( need to move it, once a month to wash the floor n corner )

- more parts to remove, need more time to dismantle for servicing..

- risk mold, water leaking, spider corrosion ( rare )...

- nid to wipe rubber door seal, maintenance, leave a gap ( lotsa gecko at home biggrin.gif )

- can't tahan the longer washing time.

- pricier for same level of feature.

couldnt compare other jap brands, cos their user manual aren't available online for download...
except toshiba ( but older models )

I do not 100% believe LG's washer's features... 6 motion etc...

I believe that nowadays most brands will have the same risk of kaput etc..

there is no one well know brand which is very inferior compared to others...

never believe in SA's sales talks...

LG n samsung don't sell parts to dealers, so they ( SA ) will twist n say hard to get parts...
cos they ( dealers ) can't service ur machine.

I do not like plastic attachments in the washing tub, ie lint filters, pulsator, etc.

I still have 2 old TL Hitachi 1983 n 1996 washer at home.
both are working.

so i can't really compare this new LG washer.. cos those old flers
are from different league..

LG WF-HX120GV

most? top loading washer will include a 'rat cover' for the bottom opening.
I saw it is included for samsung.

For some LG model, this cover is optional.

for this heater series, rat cover is not included and it is not stated as optional.

For this 12kg model, the opening has 'bracket' and screw hole for rat cover.

I think, rat cover from model WF-HD110GV will fit .

nice space for geckos, roaches, spiders to hang out... etc... biggrin.gif

Attached Image Attached Image

Does not have spirit level to aid leveling the washer.

Only the front 2 stand is adjustable.

First thing to test is the 'tub clean' function.

In the manual, duration of tube clean is not stated... ( LG trick? )

Water will be heated to 60C to wash the tub...so...

what happened is.. the washer will set water level to 1 ( out of 10 )

and slowly rotates to heat up the water.

Then it will spin n do its shaking thing to 'clean' the tub.

At 60c, there is water condensation everywhere.. ( might kill the electronic board early ? ) cos of moisture...

The total duration is 2 hours 33 min rclxub.gif

The heating time is about 33 mins.

Wattage during heater ON is about 15XX watt.

Power consumption for the whole tub clean process is about 1.4kWh

wf-hx120gv rrp = rm1999

quote from some shops...

HLK - 1699
TBC - 1720
TBM - 1750
Senheng - if member minus duno ? %
ESH - forgot, just call them
Onking - ?
Harvey - LG fler i met there said can get 1799.
these are my own assumption and opinion aft spending some time deciding/researching between fl tl...which brand...  rclxub.gif

don't trust any advice frm sa, they will come out with any cock n bull when they want to dispose certain model....
today this good, trow that good... doh.gif

washers today the quality is not the same like 10-20 years ago...

any brand/model will have the tendency to break down... luck is important...  laugh.gif
(maybe those expensive ones will have lesser chance)

For malaysia -
Samsung, LG - won't sell spare parts to consumers and dealers. ( called their cs to confirmed )
want to repair need to call them directly.

Pana, toshi, sharp, hitachi, electrolux - u can go there and buy parts on ur own.

LG is one of the world's largest washer manufacturer, top selling in US for several years,
their washer is sold in alot of countries.

Japanese brand mostly in SEA... can't even get/DL their user manual to study.
