Just bought a fridge - Panasonic NR-BW415VN from Jintex Seapark. Best price so far after going to quite a number. Love the bottom freezer concept - less icecream and more vege cuz dont want to bend down so much!

Hope it serves me well for the next 15 years at least...

For those power consumption conscious, the following findings on "inverter-may-not-win-all" is interesting:

1. Pana Inverter MR-BW465X:
Net capacity:365L, Annual consumption: 442KWh
Average consumption per litre : 442KWh/365L = 1.20KWh/L

2. Sharp Energy Saving model SJPT491MBK (SJ-MC36P-BK in Singapore)
Net capacity:368L, Annual consumption: 460KWh
Average consumption per litre : 460KWh/368L = 1.25KWh/L

Saving for the Pana Inverter is only 0.05/1.25 = 4.2% from non-inverter, relative to price difference around RM500 or 33% more.

Still it is up to individual preferences.

many thanks for the very useful link above!  biggrin.gif

In theory, having a bottom freezer helps lower the energy consumption (due to the fact that cold air stays at the bottom), but that's jus part of the equation to have the most energy efficient refrigerator. The placement of the compressor, heat insulation etc r other factors to consider..

Pls take a closer look at the sheet below, the top 10 efficient model from Hitachi includes all sort of freezer arrangement lol, surprisingly 5 out of the top 10 are french door side-by-side model.

Hi Sifu,

By calculating the usage of the bill, Is that Anual Energy consumption / 12 = Monthly KwH?
For example 423Kwh, 423Kwh/12*0.218 = RM7.6845/months ?

Correct me if I'm wrong

Thank ya notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

hi bosses,

first time purchase refrigerator.

having 2 choices but confusing in making decision.
1) toshiba GR-RG48FMD (480L, 5 stars rating, 591.3kwh annually) RM2k at Harvey. not mentioning in energy saving means it totally wont save energy ?

2)hitachi R-Z490EM (490L, 5 stars rating, 533kwh annually) RM1899 (promo price). emphasizing World Class Energy Saving.

which 1 is a good choice ?
thanks.

I just bought Toshiba as listed. bought it for Rm1750 and arrive yesterday. Not yet power ON as according to delivery people, i cannot ON it immediately as the transportation time, the gas has shaken. Therefore should wait. Going to power on later.
the front got put sticker 5 star, should be energy efficient. check out the picture

Tested power on. It cool down very fast. Now set to 1 for both bottom and top. No regret on choosing this model
