QUOTE(Maknusia @ Apr 8 2023, 11:45 AM) Not sure about metal cooling, tapi bila compare with inverter (LG) and non-inverter (Samsung), memang banyak beza in terms of power consumption. Its been awhile, but if I remember correctly, LG was about 200W and Samsung was consuming about 700W in average. Hope that helps QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 8 2023, 12:25 PM) Energy saving came mostly from compressor equipped with inverter. You need to understand how fridge works. Initial cooling will went through freezer area before going into fridge part. Old fridge cool mainly with air from freezer. I guess once you open the door, the cool air escape and the whole cooling process begin again. My guess is that by using a small piece of metal, they are able to cool the air faster since metal is a better conductor than air, also partly also because metal dont lose it's cold instantly like cool air escaping the fridge whenever it is opened. As long as it is an inverter fridge, the power savings will be there. Stuffs like metal cooling merely increase the cooling efficiency higher to achieve the final few percentage. My old fridge without inverter draws up 3.5kwh per day before I ditched it (meter change). Inverter fridge draws less than 1.5kwh per day. Thanks for the explanation. I am using an inverter one now but since the metal cooling thing is being advertised so much, was wondering if the effect is as strong as they make it to be and if it’s worth to spend more for the metal cooling feature. |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Apr 19 2023, 05:37 PM) Rather than saying where it's made, it's more like where it's assembled. I wouldn't ruled out there will be some minor differences when it comes to QC like the author mentioned. Overall, that's a pretty fair assessment except for the author obsession with assembled/made in usa. |

was surveying on fridges recently and found out that some Hisense model actually uses a cantilever system for shelve adjustment
this is quite rare and usually only found in expensive high end European fridges https://www.hisense.com.my/product/4-door-i...20l-rq768n4abu/ ![]() not a feature that will win me over to the brand but its interesting to know This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Apr 30 2023, 03:12 AM |

so i've ultimately shortlisted 2 fridges for my new home.... both french doors and of similar capacity. However having a bit of dilemma now on which to go....
i) Panasonic Prime+ NR-CW530XMMM (Net 495L) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « + Love the exterior design + More features + Larger freezer space since the compressor is on top + More reliable? (solely based on the brand here) - More expensive (cheapest I can find is around 4.5k after discounts) - Comes with an auto ice maker (not sure if can consider this a con but its an extra thing waiting to go wrong in long term) - The water tanks for both ice maker and water dispenser taking up space despite the larger net capacity volume - The top most shelf have less space since the compressor is on top ii) Hisense RQ568N4ABU (Net 432L) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « + Cheaper (1k+ cheaper compared to the Panasonic) + Prefer the interior space and layout (despite the net volume is lesser than above) + Exterior depth is lesser (700 vs 750mm). Frees up some space for my kitchen walkway + Basic features? (less things to go wrong in long term?) - Exterior design is normal - Basic features (i know am paying less and this could be a pro also) - How reliable is Hisense??? (this is my biggest question) - What about the after sales service incase I need it? (Google map review of Hisense Malaysia is not convincing Any comments? Hi, I am currently looking for reversible door/right side open refrigerator. Prefer two doors 400-500L due to space limitation(W:800 x D:700).
So far I only managed to find Samsung but hesitate to buy this brand? Any other models that I could look out for? |

Much smoother mechanism than plastic. ![]() Have been using my fridge for around a year now, got it during Raya promo last year at RM3.4k only. The Hisense fridge is pretty cold when I set it to 2C and as for Pana, I have 2 friends using Pana fridges which are not cold at all even at the coldest setting (more like 6-8C only). Strangely, I also read some comments about Pana aircon in the aircon thread not being that cold (vs other brands) due to emphasizing on power saving. Perhaps something you may want to look into/dig deeper. |

Guys, Im looking for a very slim model type of fridge and the model I have shortlisted is Sharp SJX-508MS (or the black colour equivalent SJX-518GK) as it is within my budget, fits my requirement of a SBS with only a depth of 590mm and biggest capacity for its depth at 500L.
Anybody else using this model can share your review? Only downside is non-inverter. Also is there any other slim model fridge with depth around 590mm as an alternative for my consideration? This post has been edited by xtracooljustin: Jun 28 2023, 01:44 AM |

Also is there any other slim model fridge with depth around 590mm as an alternative for my consideration? The shallowest depth i can find for SBS is Hisense's Most are around 700mm +/- range. The Hisense is at 643mm iinm https://www.hisense.com.my/product/side-by-...20l-rs688n4abu/ Do you really need it to be so slim? imo i would sacrifice some space just for the inverter since a fridge is on 24/7. The savings will be significant Edit: there's also this Toshiba SBS with 635mm depth https://www.toshiba-lifestyle.com/my/refrig...efrigerator-iot This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jun 28 2023, 08:06 PM xtracooljustin liked this post
