I bought the Panasonic NR-BY601XS inverter fridge as well. Internally, it's not as fancy as other brands, more utilitarian and functional. The freezer compartment does not have lights, which I found to be peculiar for such a big fridge.
It's very difficult to quantify whether it saves me electricity, I just started using it in my new place. |

Hello! I'm looking at Hitachi's R-Z490EM/R-Z490EMX. I'm just curious what does the EM/EMX stand for? And what's the difference between EM/EMX and AM/AMX?
Thanks. |

QUOTE(Drian @ Dec 14 2010, 10:25 AM) ....and pls ignore any sort of 'energy saving' tags that they usually stick on the unit, it is just a general marketing tool. More trustworthy one would be to find only those that have 'energy saving rating approved by Sirim(or a goverment body here)' which mentioned the model number specifically in the tag. |

More accurately, find out the energy consumption per year.
You can refer to the Singapore National Environment Agency's website where there is a database of test results for registered appliances (fridge, aircon, etc). This should help you on your research. Do take note, esp for aircon, that not all models available in MY are available in SG, and vice versa: http://els.nea.gov.sg/mels/aircon.asp |
