I bought the Panasonic NR-BY601XS inverter fridge as well. Internally, it's not as fancy as other brands, more utilitarian and functional. The freezer compartment does not have lights, which I found to be peculiar for such a big fridge.

It's very difficult to quantify whether it saves me electricity, I just started using it in my new place.

There's a water container in the fridge section. You take it out and fill it up with water. The water will be piped up into the freezer section to be made into ice cubes, and dispensed automatically into the container.

I'm using Panasonic 601XS. So far it has been fine. I don't have that many stuff to put inside yet, hence I cannot comment on how well it performs under load. My only complaint so far is that the freezer compartment does not have lights! I noticed the same about other Panasonic refrigerators. Very strange.

I use the 551XS, same as the 601XS, just one less shelf - totally love it, cold even though all settings are at minimum/energy saving mode. I think most refrigerators don't have lights in the freezer section, maybe for high end ones?

Sharps and Toshibas have freezer lights in most models.

I put mine in mid temperature settings. I have thermometers inside the fridge to measure temperature, since the fridge doesn't have indicators. I keep my fridge section at about 3-4 C and my freezer section at about -18C. It's good to have thermometers so you know your fridge is working fine. I bought mine from Daiso.

ADJ, how is your freezer drawer? I find mine doesn't glide out as smoothly these days. Maybe the wheels are frozen smile.gif

Thanks paskal for sharing. At first consider panasonic NR-BY601XS which have inverter, but as you said the freezer drawer tend to get stuck. Does anyone use this model have this problem?

Heard that Hitachi frigde is good for french door, but this is too big. I will consider 2 doors R-Z660EM with 508 litres

I have NR-BY601XS. It doesn't get stuck, just doesn't glide so smoothly. Probably because I don't open the freezer compartment often enough.

Need some feedback here.
Anybody using panasonic inverter refrigerator?
Heard sales person mentioned about the "not cold" issue face by panasonic inverter frige that i want to choose for, is that true?
Thanks in advance

Not cold? Just adjust the temperature setting according to your preference. Not cold is very subjective. Ideally, the fridge should be around 4-5C while the freezer should be around -15C. I get that temperature with my settings at mid level. Use a thermometer.

Yup, i think that is very subjective too just base on feeling. Maybe the sales guy is trying to push for other brand.
Are you using panasonic inverter type? Any issues?

I'm using NR-BY601XS. So far, no issues. Except, maybe I should've gotten a smaller size tongue.gif Freezer drawer is at the bottom, some people do not like that. There's also no light in the freezer.

I can see that you are a satisfied user.
NR-BY601XS is too big for me, just looking for 400+ litre is enough.
How long have you been using NR-BY601XS?

About a year.
