It is the the thing we interest/collect/hobby. But we ignore others people interest. It is just a circle of thinking that eventually coming back to us. Hope you can understand what I mean.  smile.gif

It is not just Hitachi appliances always use less energy. Many others do have. Got to search more. The brand here is limited compare western country. Which have more choice to shop around.

It is not always about the inverter technology. One of the example advance tech for this kind of fridge is the insulation. Have you notice that with such a big capacity, the fridge size not that big. Inside capacity/space in increase. But able to retain total outer size small. While the inside cool air won't effect at all. That mean the wall is thinner. If you research more, you can find that, they using space material technology to insulate the fridge. If you talk about space technology, all is high tech stuff. But high tech price also.  sweat.gif

There is a bunch of sensor inside this fridge to detect whatever thing. To reduce the waste, odour and power etc. Hope not easily spoil.  sweat.gif  There is still many others new tech inside, that you cannot see and touch. But doing their job behind.

Without knowledge about this tech, you won't understand why it is so expensive.

Side by side fridge for me is, waste of space. Narrow and thin inside. But fat outside. Got to learn how to save space in small home. Ignore it if you live in banglo.

That's why I mentioned everyone have their own need or interest. rolleyes.gif

I like to read also, I did read the brochure and manual and all the tech it have, but normally all other brand also have more or less the same thing, Panasonic have something called U-Vacua, but the fridge use more energy than Hitachi counterpart when I read through all the Annual Energy Consumption. Not only fridge even their washing machine also use less energy if compare to other brand, that why I mention Inverter because Washing Machine don't have insulation tongue.gif

I mentioned aesthetic wise side by side is better looking but functionality maybe different story. wink.gif

Hitachi HK website have more info manual and such, Malaysia Hitachi website really ..... doh.gif

Ya, I find this Hitachi R-Bxxxx series is more energy saving among the same type with others brand. But not sure the actual usage.

The size also smaller even same capacity. Most of this type of fridge is using high technology material to make. Example, the insulation.

Maybe you can ask iamsobloodysick@ to quote to you. He have a good price.

i found this online and you may check the energy usage here. though not all fridge is listed.

Don't no really that freaking low consumption as they claim. Need some third party to test it.

You always heard developer/arhitect said, when no more place to built, we built up. That's why so many condo/apartment in KL or spore/HK in country. This is 1 thing I learn about space saving. Wide thing is waste space. Tall and length is saving space. Unless the wide side is convert to use for full space, otherwise it is waste. So side by side fridge is waste space for me. Just my thought. Ignore it if you stay in banglo. smile.gif

That is good website to compare. But I see most of it consumption is direct take from the brand. Rather conduct own test. Anyway, it is better than nothing.

Take your model as an example compare to nearest or similar capacity. But all same type of fridge. (Multidoor)

1) Hitachi RB6200H consume 292Kwh.
2) Panasonic NR-F605TT consume 464Kwh
3) Samsung RN415BRK consume 349Kwh
4) Mitsubishi MR-E62S consume 401Kwh

That is freaking low consumption for Hitachi. Usage of only 292kwh /12mth = 25kwh/mth or 0.8kwh/day or RM0.25/day.

If compare to my old 16yrs Panasonic fridge with 292l capacity, usage is 678.9kwh/12mth = 56.6kwh/mth or 1.86kwh/day or RM0.6/day. sad.gif That is big different consumption ratio to capacity.

Wow! Your extended warranty is expensive.  sweat.gif

The mirror image is the something white light blue? Got 1 shop offer me below 7k for their display unit. But don't remember is it B6800 or B6200.

How is the power consumption ? This point is important for me to get approval from home ministry.  biggrin.gif
*
Yes, the extended warranty is expensive but parts are extremely expensive too, so for 5 years, is worth it I think. biggrin.gif

Yes, the mirror image is of a light blue mirror. I hated it. I saw another model with mirror image of Hitachi in a showroom and the print marks are everywhere. It looks so untidy but of course if you want to clean it every day, then its OK. Imagine a wall mirror, same concept.

Before I bought Hitachi, I did search many models and this is the only one that I like esp the ice maker. I made many trips to analyse it and finally bought it and to this day, no regrets. biggrin.gif

Believe it or not, I have no idea how to check on power consumption on the fridge alone. The fridge itself is totally silent. The beauty of the fridge is enough to put smiles on me each time I walk past it. To me, its definitely worth the value. rclxms.gif

Haha everyone have their own need for me the added function doesn't justify the 3x cost.

Hitachi is good choice their appliances always use less energy, maybe more advance in Inverter technology?  hmm.gif

Aesthetic wise I like side by side fridge, maybe I grew up with multi door fridge bored of it already.  tongue.gif

I live in a condo so space is important and limited. I only have room for one big fridge, unlike most people will have 2 or 3 fridges at home. My first choice when hunting for a fridge was a 'Side by Side' fridge only. After a long hesitation, it still comes down to me that the compartments are too narrow.
If one fine day that you need to put a huge cake or big fish, the compartment just cannot accommodate it. The last straw was when I stayed at my brother's home and he has the 'Side by Side' fridge and it's messy. Impossible to find things.

You need a power monitor device if you want to check yourself. I want to get one if possible to check all the power usage of all electronic devices at home. tongue.gif

I though side by side easier to find thing? coz you can view all the things inside at a glance compare to multi door where you may forget you have something store inside the fridge as you have to open the compartment one by one? hmm.gif

Nay, I am not tech enough to check all the power with the power monitor. tongue.gif

Well, if you are one of those people that organize things neatly in a side by side fridge, then perhaps you can view all the things inside at a glance. biggrin.gif

Yay! Happy with the result! rclxms.gif

A little incident on my fridge that I like to share.

Last night, my hubby accidentally left the compartment open after taking out the ice cream (next to the ice maker compartment). It so happened it was the last bit of ice cream in it so he didn't realize he left the compartment open. This morning around 7.30am, I saw it open and I have few sticks-like ice cream. They were melted. The ice compartment, the ice stick together due to the ice melted partly only. Then I quickly checked if my frozen stuff are melted. I can't believe that everything are still in frozen state and vegs and other compartments are normal. So relieved! Must be the Inverter technology.

Normally there is a beeping sound to alert you that a door is left open but we didn't notice it.

Understand how a fridge works then you won't say like this.

Should be no. And that 3 brands you mentioned are not lemon brand, by the time you want to claim(if you are lucky), the warranty should be over already, at least my Panasonic confirmed over already(compressor warranty 7 years and I used it for 8 years)

Guys, I'm quite noob with these fridge stuff.

What fridge is recommended for ~350L capacity? Only use for 2 ppl.

Is Samsung a reliable brand for fridge? I've seen a few models in HN and they're really attractive and minimalistic looking.

Any comments on Sharp SJX62WB?
http://www.lazada.com.my/sharp-side-by-sid...ver-532807.html

Good value for money with water & ice dispenser, homebar, led touch screen, looks great n has tons of other features. Seemed like my dream fridge.. The only catch is that it has only 1 year warranty. sad.gif

Planning to buy this Monday. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
