I just watched TLJ, I am so lucky i didn't spend my cash by going cinema.

This movie only can be describe as below:

Watched TLJ.
Still under the shadow of the original trilogy.
A mixture of Episode 5 and Episode 6.




Hecks~
Star Wars Rebels has a much better storyline.
Kanan's 'exit' made me teary.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

This movie is all about... pedigree.

The Rogue (Han Solo).

The Ship (Millennium Falcon).

The Sidekick (Chewbacca).

The First Love (Qi'ra)

It has it ALL.

I keep mixing up Thandie Newton with Zoe Saldana. Hmmm....

For the people NOT in the know (where have you been?), this is Han Solo origin movie.

And it really has it all, where is he from, who his first love is, how he became rogue everyone love ()

Ron Howard has always been very good to bring out the human interest to whatever projects he is involved in, and this is no different which actually adds to this movie.

Is Alden Ehrenreich young Solo?

I cannot say I am a fan of his. I can only remember him, from the movie, Beautiful Creatures (2013) which was not a big thing... After watching this, he... sold young Solo (great backstory to the name).

Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan wrote the script, which brings me back to my pedigree comment earlier.

The only thing that did not work for me is Donald Glover, as young Lando Calrissian...

Oh, Woody Harrelson is also in this.

Was actually surprise that is in it!!?!

Will thing be another big money earner for Disney?

Has there been any doubt? (Not sure if it will make more than Rogue One)

If this is the level of quality Disney can maintain for Star War stand alone movie, bring them on.

IMO, Solo is at the bottom list of my Star Wars related movies

It's not that bad as some complaining, but I don't like the script, neither the casting too

Story wise, I felt they are trying too hard to explain the origin of few popular things from the original universe, like the Millennium Falcon, Chewie, and lastly the Kessler run with 12 parsecs

Villains are forgettable, and some of the casts has missed opportunity to expand more to make it more interesting

Casting wise, nope, Alden doesn't give the similar vibes to the Ford's roguish Solo, IMO he's too innocent looking & childish.
Worst cast is Emilia, she CANNOT ACT at all
She should just stick to her HBO's GoT, and most of the her big screen movies aren't doing well either.

I find it amusing that most of these articles fail to mention the fan backlash from 'The Last Jedi' as well. Definitely a contributing factor.

This movie has to gross $500 million to break even. International box office has been quite lukewarm, with just $110 mil.+ after two weeks.





Looking forward to James Mangold's "Boba Fett" and the 'supposedly in the works' "Obi Wan" film.

Wow, abit too overcomplimenting. It is not 'best'. It is decent. It has no originality at all. Most it should get is a 'good enough'. Calling it 'one of the best' is an overstatement. The reason why it earned so much because it has been so many years since a Star Wars movie came out. Obviously the hype was there but it was disappointing in the end.

...And so it begins. Day 1 of IX.

The beginning of the end of yet another SW trilogy.



In case you haven't heard... Carrie Fisher will appear in IX by using unused footage of her from Episode VII.

Wonder how they'll do it... might be quite a limited role unless they want to do the whole mocap thing like with Tarkin in R1.

IMO they should have just let Leia died in TLJ, but noooo... they'll have to add that awkward superman crap flying back from vacuum space

in IX, they might have her killed, together with Chewie in the Millennium Falcon, the last remnant from the original saga

Either that or make her switch places with the Purple Kamikaze lady... ok what... makes more sense. Imagine an injured Princess Leia telling all the younger Rebels to leave on the last escape cruiser so that she can sacrifice herself to save the Resistance. ADD IN some sappy dialogue about how the past needs to die (heheh) and let Jurassic Park lady take over afterwards
