Yes, Streamyx seems unusable since last night unless you have VPN.

Huge dropouts all the time. I am getting over 90% packet loss to some locations.

The last few times this happened, it was over in a couple hours. This time it has gone on for a very long time (at least 8 hours).

I think we should set up a web site that records these outages, and then invite everyone we know who has Streamyx to join, and the web site can auto-generate refund request letters on behalf of all of its members for the periods when the service is unusable. Maybe if they are getting thousands of refund requests every week, management will start to pay attention to the fact that the network people are not doing their jobs.

Please be reminded that this might be the result of the so-called UPGRADE that Streamyx has done in order to serve all of us BETTER !!!

Now that is an idea.
These low speeds are definitely not worth paying for.
I've wanted to upgrade from 1mbps to 2mbps but from the look of things it doesn't look like it will help.

I hope convivencia is right about the so called UPGRADE being the cause of all these problems.

As if the slowdown not bad enough, their support services totally blows.

Most of the time, customer call, they just want to know
A) What's the problem - To let customer know, we're aware of the issue.
B) What's being done to fix the issue, and expected recovery date
C) What can be done to prevent the issue from happening again.

In my case, here's how I have to answer my bosses/colleagues.
A) I don't know cause streamyx don't know
B) Nothing I can do streamyx monopoly all BB internet services
C) Awaiting for Packet 1 to come online in my area.

Problem Identified :

Kindly be informed that we are facing 5G backhaul link towards US that currently down. Currently there was trunk maintainence between Machester to Maruyama Japan scheduled end by 13/2 – but there had cable repair by JUCN ( japanese cabling underwater company), so that ETTR has been extend to 17/2/2009. Additional info, due to this issue link between our DC border to backhaul San Jose border router currently down thus may cause performance degradation. For the time being, we cannot do much for routing as most of our inbound links originate from US is congested and affected most users. Your patience and co-operation is highly appreciated at this moment and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Found this support ticket on the web. Hope that helps clear things up a bit.
