USJ is in Subang Jaya but it's pointless if you go to TRU Subang as I'm very sure they don't have stock. I could check for you tomorrow if you wanna be certain. Why are u so interested in the Rapid Fire anyway? It's a so so gun. You're better off with the MagStrike which you can get from Carrefour Mid Valley. The had like 5 - 6 units last I went there.

Added on April 14, 2009, 10:29 pmbtw, can the magstrike pause in the middle of firing? or must it be shot straight 10 rounds?

Yup, the Magstrike can be fired in "semi-auto" mode, just pull the trigger in quick snaps, it'll fire 1-2 shots in short bursts. smile.gif

The RF20 has the advantage of holding 20 darts at once and being able to fire them off very quickly, ideal for fast-paced close quarter Nerf games (ie. in office or home), but it's disadvantage is it doesn't have a swappable clip system so once you're out of ammo during a game you'll have to pull out another blaster.

The Magstrike also uses the same rapid firing mechanism, although it's clip can only hold 10 darts at any one time, the clip is swappable so you have the option of carrying a few additional clips to reload quickly (assuming you can get the original Magstrike boxsets that come with 2 x clips, or manage to buy extra clips from online sellers or eBay).

My impromptu office games usually see Magstrikes used as primary blasters to hunt opponents along corridors, while using RF20s as "room clearing" blasters. laugh.gif

Oh by the way, 1U's stock seems to be vastly inferior to Subang Parade's.

So what's USJ? heh. I prefer a Rapid Fire cos I'm somewhat in the midst of making my own ammo clip for it =D I'm looking for a durable material to form the clip at this moment.

Is the Magstrike stock easily available in Carrefour Mid Valley? How much is it over there? How do I get there from JB? I don't mind going down next weekend to get them =D

I guess after trying the Ironman Magstrike last weekend in a Nerf War with some friends, i felt that some bugs still exist so i'm sticking to my Rapid Fire in the meantime =D I was a bit annoyed that the clip kept dropping back down into the gun, so everytime i stopped firing, i had to 'restart' shooting blanks first before the actual rounds started coming out - thus i lost the element of surprise because it made quite a bit of noise =P

I heard the N-strike Magstrike has fixed all these problems so im hoping that USJ or TRU Subang Parade has those =D

Interested in going down to check them out?

Yup, i know what you mean, a few of my magstrike clips also slide back down after firing, but i also have a few which can stay in position properly... so i guess its probably a cause of manufacturing variations between the different production batches (i've measured all my magstrike clips to compare and their widths could differ by as much as 2-3 mm).

Luckly its easy to solve, simply stick a few layers of duct tape/rubber tape along the side of your Magstrike clip, this will provide enough friction to keep the clip in position when firing in bursts, i've done it and it works. Here is a photo of how its done by Forsaken_angel24 at Nerfhaven:

Do the N-Strike Magstrikes come with extra clip and tags? I am planning to play Dart Tags with a friend since its the best and easiest to understand in rules.

http://www.productwiki.com/nerf-dart-tag-magstrike/

"This air-powered blaster comes with two quick loading 10-shot clips along with 20 micro darts"

Unfortunately i don't see any mention of extra clips being sold separately.

(they cocked the gun real hard and fast) and after that day i havent touched the gun.. and a few days before i got bored and shot it.. it lost energy... even though the AR is out... it use to sound like PUP! and now... puff == it cant even reach 25 feet.... sad sad sad T.T someone help... icon_question.gif

U confirm that they told u that they're bringing the Rapid Fires in? I don't mind the N-strike Mags too =D

Let me know when u're going yea? i might just clear the Rapid Fire stocks there =P

There's a few versions of the magstrike. I think there's a model before the Ironman series but i have never seen them around in malaysia or singapore. I heard that there were some issues (air leaks etc) with it and it was replaced by the updated Ironman version fixing some of the issues. But Ironman version also has some problems such as the clip dropping problem i mentioned earlier (hence the mod above). Finally, the N-strike Magstrike is supposed to have all the problems fixed - so that's probably the best magstrike to buy if u see it =D

There's no 20 round magstrike - that's why i still like my Rapid Fire =D I think it is possible to mod the gun to hold a 20 round clip but from what i noticed - it would require a lot of modding - i think making the extended clip is somewhat easy - the problem maybe modding the gun itself to hold the clip. I haven't checked forums if they have done that yet though. Maybe there's a solution out there already =D

You might want to check your spring mechanism - it sounds like the spring isn't able to fully 'force the air' out - there might be a leak somewhere. The rough handling might have caused a crack somewhere around the plunger area? But this is my novice's advice - i have no clue on the exact mechanisms of the recon. I seriously doubt its the fault of the oil though. Sorry cant be of more help.

Maybe the rest of the forum guys might know better =D

Okay, some good news... i just called TRU M'sia main office and they helped me check their system for the Yellow N-strike RF 20s shown on the TRU M'sia website.

They said there is currently stock of this model at 2 of their TRU outlets: Queensbay Mall @ Penang & Mesra Mall @ Trengganu.

More units are apparently on order, but it'll be up to Hasbro M'sia to determine when they'll bring them in. smile.gif
