I was wondering,
is RM5000 enough for a week holiday in Tokyo for a single person? (cheapest type of accomodation, food to eat, cheapest transport)
I'm planning on sight seeing around the city and probably including Mt.Fuji as well.
Any advice?
more than enough for single. RM3k is enough (RM1k+ accomodation, RM400 food - JPY10,000 a week for food is a lot!, RM200 train - JPY5000 is enough if you are just taking trains around tokyo)is RM5000 enough for a week holiday in Tokyo for a single person? however, if you plan to go Hakone (recommended for views, cable car, outdoor onsen) you need around JPY10,000 but not inclusive of sleeping there. day trip only.
btw, speaking of onsen, clemong, any traditional/open air onsen around tokyo, within 30minutes train?
Great. found a link. very near . Ueno itself got one.

but if using N'EX , it will cost JPY1500, instead of JPY3,000, and requires you to change train from Shinjuku to Ueno.
i have been taking keisei few times previously (of course la cheap) , but considering to try N'EX, but then changing train is such a hassle.
