^ Haha. How fat is Echt now? Post some picture and see see. If eating means healthy. Unless eating like a pig and yet skinny like a stick then maybe got some problem, worms in stomach or something I can't remember. The BC part, maybe some other forumers will know more about it as they use BC. (Or maybe not enough food, asking you to give her more.) Dark green poo is okay also, I describe that to the vet last time, she told me unless is forest green, otherwise is alright. And good luck in your cinny, looks like high demand for cinny in the market. Haha.

QUOTE(Hiyuki @ Nov 5 2008, 11:38 PM) sigh... call him a pig. as long as there's something for him to eat.. he would eat. doesnt matter how much u give him, he will continue eating. i once gave him 1 full bowl of food, thinking he would stop eating after he feel full, but the bowl was empty after 2hrs when i checked on him again. (it's a cat food bowl) but then normally i would feed him 2 teaspoon of hedgehog staple food, topped with cucumber or blueberries. i cant confirm whether that's enuf for him or not.. coz.. he never stop eat! (he's roughly 4 months old) _______________________ the poo is somewhat dark green..some is lighter.. btw... i think im extremely lucky, coz my hedgehog is 100% pure non-picky. you're hedgie is most probably gonna suffer this: OBESITYwith that kinda diet, you have (MUST) offer him wheels and lots of running...

So nice.... your little piggy always eat. My Sammy does not eat very much. I gave him 1 teaspoon of food since Monday, until today still not finish half yet.
Also, I've been noticing that he is shedding his quills. I see them all around the floor of his cage on the fleece. Can anyone help me? Not sure if there is anything wrong with him.

Take a good look at the quills, if the start of the quill is shaped round like a little knob then is okay. If is shedding alot and the start of the quill doesn't have a little round knob then maybe you have to look at the skin, might be infected by mites.
But young hedgehogs tend to shed their young quills to give way for longer quills as they age, so no worries.

I'm worried that he got mites, coz he keeps scratching and scratching.

They will be frighten quite easily.. Unfamiliar smells, even a bit of difference, sudden movement, r things that make them terkejut ma.. So u have to make him used to it la, like a routine for him, so he wont afraid d.. Mine, u ketuk anything also he can still sleep soundly. I wonder if he is deaf or what. haha But when he hears the RC being "krook krook" into the bowl, he can wake up pulak, even when the clay bowl is outside the zoozone 2.. haiyo, fat noty durian..

^ You're planing to breed hedgehogs? Price range around RM 150 - RM 200. (In garagesales) You can find some in garagesales. 6 weeks old hedgehog is slightly smaller than an average palm. If you're going for breeding project, you should get a big one. 6 months - 1 year is a ideal time to intro mama hedgehog to breed. <Trying to breed mama hedgehog younger than 6 months is not advisable.
You should do some research in breeding and keeping first. They should not be kept together, when the right time has come from breeding, the mama hedgehog should be placed into the habitat of the papa hedgehog for about 1 - 2 weeks before removing her back to her own habitat.
For first time nursing mama, she may be inexperienced and cannibalization may occur if you're not careful. At nursing duration, you're best not to play with mama hedgehog, might cause stress. You should also prepare a bigger hideout box that has about an inch height bottom entrance to prevent the hoglets to stray too far from mama.
Generally, there are two person that is selling mama and papa hedgie, if you're going for breeding project, those might be better cause they are more experienced. (There's one person that is letting go his breeding pair, inclusive of enclosure and food). Good luck.
Basic items you need: 1) two habitat / enclosure (The bigger the better) 2) two feeding bottle 3) two feeding dish 4) bedding for both enclosure (BC, Chipsi, Vitakraft, No PINE) 5) two running wheels for exercise (they need lots of exercise) 6) food (RC 32 for big hedgehogs, RC kittens for hoglets) & Can supplments with mealworms, crickets, boiled eggs or chicken

Hello everyone. I have a hedgehog by the name of PinCushion and he is the nicest and best hedgie around! he doesn't balled up and he's really friendly. in fact before i got him, i did a lot of research (with this forum of course) and i was quite nervous. But when i got him, he's a sweetheart. Just a couple of question and hopefully someone can help me:- 1) do i need to give him any supplement? currently i am feeding him RC Kitten pellets (2 spoon per day and 2 mealies every other day) 2) Pincushion doesn't like any kind of fruits or vegetables- is this ok? 3) should i be changing to adult cat RC? he's now appx. 4 months++ and he weights around 290gm. 4) any other places which sell big wheel? the one selling in Pet Safari is just the right size but %$#$% expensive!! Thanks.
