@ Meento : you can try these, which I heard people gave their recommendation. I've only been to Hand "N" Paws.

Hope he'll be more opened. Try handling it during the evening till night. Is very common for them to run and hide but you can still handle them. Provided you handle them gently. Maybe you can put some worn clothings inside to help it get a familiar with you. Good luck. |

Maybe there's no hedgehog breeders in Sarawak? Even RM 400 is high in KL, wonder do they really sell otherwise what would happened to them? By the way meento, if you still want the hedgie, I can reserve for you. I've already separate him from the mother. He is trying to be too friendly with the mother which leave me no choice. ![]() So cham no place to put. This post has been edited by empty_reg: Jan 11 2009, 11:36 AM |

QUOTE(zoeyhanz @ Jan 12 2009, 10:41 AM) haha....nw he onli come out after switch off the light quite a long Its common 4 them to come out when u switch out the light since hedgei r nocturnal...Maybe they feel safer i tink..but nw he quite ok but he seems boring..jz repeat walk in box ...but gonna get him a wheel jor^^ Haha, i won't recommend you to do that at the early stage..If u want to do so, be careful..There r cases that hedgie do bite, and i assure that u will remember the pain...Get some time with your hedgie first, hand feed it..This helps the bonding process..Let ur hedgie know that ur hand is not dangerous..Mine usually will sniff sniff when i put ma hand in front of her, maybe trying to find some treat hehe Yes, u should go and get him a wheel...Quite boring whooo juz sit in the box..but get ready. Although my hedgie is toilet train, yet when i put in the wheel, she always choose to poo n pee in there... Maybe u can train urs not to do so.. Good LucK |

Where did you snap the picture? Shouldn't be a porcupine, cause the colour and size doesn't match above. Looks like some sort of salt and pepper to me, think I can see the nose at 6 o'clock. As long as you have a thick fibre (tower, thick gloves, your shirt) on hands you can carry it. Tricky part is getting it our from there, won't be easy. |

What about snapping a picture at the face? It could be an European instead of African. Salt and pepper is a colour of African Hedgehog. Do you have dog kibbles, cat kibbles, (pet food), or you can give it hard boiled egg, lean chicken meat, (meat, unseasoned, lean) or you might need to give it insects (it'll eat most kinds). Water is more important. Try to give it a paper box to hide itself to reduce the stress. Good luck. Added on January 13, 2009, 7:45 amAnd if it is an European. It might grow bigger. Most will take commercial cats and dogs biscuits. If you plan to buy it (Pet food), find the one which has higher protein content. We use RC Cat and other various brands here in Malaysia, not sure if is available at your place. Added on January 13, 2009, 7:51 amof to class. good luck. try googling for european hedgehog and african hedgehog. see which esembles it the most. I've no experience in European, so is good to find out more. This post has been edited by empty_reg: Jan 13 2009, 07:51 AM |
