The VAT will be automatically deducted if shipping address is outside EU. But unfortunately Amazon does not ship electronic products internationally. From Amazon UK, Vpost does not ship to Malaysia, only way is to buy when you're in UK (with VAT), then have to claim VAT yourself when bring back to Malaysia. Plus the player will be locked to region B unless you install the modkit chip which will add you few hundred bucks more.

From Amazon US, wait until the price drops (I bought my BD35 for only US$222) and can use Vpost to send straight to your home (or any other services available from our forumers here). It's region A so no worries about modding the player, just need to buy a cheap transformer, that's all. biggrin.gif

Can declare lower lah, can ask bro Corez for some tips. whistling.gif

But my BD player was not declared lower than RM500, it was around RM800. So lucky there was no tax. sweat.gif

under declaring the thing also pose a risk to oneself, isnt it? if the thing is damaged or missing, then the shipper's liability is only on the declared amount, right?

Yes, that's correct. The insurance will only cover declared value. So if using cheap shipping method, the risk is high. But I don't worry much if using DHL/Fedex/UPS, they're much more secured, efficient and reliable. biggrin.gif

if you (or the shipper) didn't buy insurance in the 1st place for the shipment. how to claim amount up to invoice value?
the carrier will only refund minimal costs... or maybe waive the 2nd shipment's costs as goodwill...
