yed...sony wants you to buy their micro vault. but i found cheaper transcend and kingston. and it should be able to handle more than 1GB....i think the manual said something abt NOT to plug in an ext HDD into it.

i am waiting and see if there's any sales coming up in the next few weeks before i place the order for this. there's still a price diff btwn the BD35 and S350...sony being the cheaper of the 2. but the prospect of the front SDHC vs the rear USB, i prefer the front thing.

oh yeah, i'll be getting the region B version.

hey piscesguy.....can you please let me know if the power cord on your BD55 is detachable or not? not one of those integrated into the unit, right?

PS3 is probably the cheapest option only in Msia.....elsewhere you get those sony/panasonic/samsung stand-alone players at a lower price compared to the PS3....

i think my PS3's fan is a bit noisy from day 1.....heard there's a difference in fan noise comparing the current (80GB) and previous 40GB with the early 60GB units....mine is the 60GB unit.

shame cant redeem those 2 BD eh...do you have a choice for those?

I am still waiting for someone to bring me a unit from UK...around this region...UK seems to be the best buy for this unit....at GBP195. need to mail in to get Narnia Prince Caspian....box comes with National Treasure 2 and for a limited time...Amazon UK let you choose a 3rd BD from a list.

aiman...there's some code you can use on those universal remote controllers to break the code for the DVD playback (only) for that BD35......then again, if you wont be using it for DVD...i guess no point.

aiman, that BD35 doesnt have voltage selector, right?

i am pretty much set on that model as well.....but now have to think if i should get it from UK or US...there is quite a bit of price difference.

just emailed those fella in Stockholm about those mod kits. need to check how much is shipping and/or if they'll mod my unit if i bring them the unit.

aiman, yes, universal remote like Harmony and URC....google for it...its on some forum..avforums if not mistaken.

the mod kit retailer in Stockholm will do the mod job as well...for SEK1195...that is about RM450....but first I need to get the UK BD35 first, for the right voltage. then i might consider sending/bringing it to STO to be modded.

from the picture you posted, the PS3 is on top of the DVD player and the BD player? wouldnt that be a bit of load on the bd player?

no...am not in UK...

but it seems that purchasing from amazon UK (if one is in UK) is even more efficient than going out to the store.

actually amazon UK only ship within UK for these sort of stuffs...so the VAT still applies...and yes for those BD i got from UK, the VAT still applies..in fact UK's VAT is lower than many other EU countries..so they will have to top up the VAT when I order..

as for the mod chip...have not decided on that yet...havent found anyone willing to do this around here...the nearest is the mod chip distributor in stockholm..but have to find time to go there....or ship it there....see how it goes.
