Your hamster has been taking too much sugar and fatty food, since cereal is high sugar content and kuaci is fattening. Most probably is not chubby in a healthy way. It's fat and maybe really obese. Stop giving the cereal. Chocolate poisoning happens overtime, but the more you give the faster your hamster will die. I think I mentioned before, my dad's friend had this really fat rabbit because they feed it ice cream and chocolates. Died after 1 year.

Do attach the logo. It will help people around beware. You are not advertising cuz you are not selling it.

blush.gif Try to get other brands of packaged food for it to eat. I think habitrail is still better than what you're feeding. mad.gif The shop really evil. Do this kind of thing. Cheat people.

Maybe at first they will not eat cuz they too used to sweet fatty food dy so u must still force them. Give them fresh fruits and vegetables. Cuz those got natural sugar which is healthy.

Go ahead with what you are thinking and what you insist to do, no one can stop you and but please DO NOT give any wrong information to other people here as you are not doing the correct thing. Good luck to your hammy and I feel sad for him/her as he/she never get anything good or best in all his/her life except those 'snacks' and rusted metal bars.

rclxms.gif You're a really good owner. You must surely love your hamsters a lot since you want to give the best to them. For being obese fat, i think your hammie will be ok if exercise on the wheel a lot. Plus a change of proper diet will make them healthier very slowly.

@Mike: sweat.gif Master Shifu in Kungfu panda is a red panda, originating from China. He's not a hamster... biggrin.gif

O_o macam ini pun boleh... who started this cruel idea?! Using human cereals to feed hamsters...

...Which nutritionist also warn that they're NOT good for humans also.

I brought back guava branches from taiping for hammy to bite last new year...but she balantly ignored the branch even when I slightly poke her with it. I put inside the cage for a long long time also not a single bite on it.

Instead she chew the wheel and her house >_< Not to mention the zomg rusted ladder too.

Why this hamster so many bad habits wan?! Argh must change it ASAP but no money.

The more I read here, the more I regret not learning enough about my old hamster when I was 10.

blush.gif Many things could happen when we're young but Internet wasn't in yet then and pet care wasn't so advanced yet so don't blame yourself.

Wah, My Roche is a horrid chewer and chewed the doggie chew sticks into 2 pieces after she deep it in smoothie.

smile.gif But both Ferro and Roche doesn't chew bars. They seem content with just climbing the bars. sweat.gif Ferro only chews incessantly when I confiscated his wheel that once. They both will panjat panjat but no chew.

Lol biggrin.gif At least she's chewing the right things. Occasionally little Bean will throw down the ladder. She don't just bite, she bite and pull...trying to drop the ladder.

The wheel's axis now have tiny little pits, and she cheed down a house before. doh.gif

Ugh, I can imagine all the plastic bits in her system...and they also go into my compost...

ARGH THE NASTY CHEWING HABIT MUST END D: D: D:

P.S fur condition is a lot better after some toothbrush grooming and pouring sandbath over her...at the cost now she don't like me sad.gif

Then why don't you just take out the ladder?

Your hamster does have a very nasty chewing habit. Actually Roche used to chew her bars. I can conclude she was teething since she only chews her doggie chew toy now. Anyway, she was chewing the bars all the time. I took the patience to sit there for 2 hours, blowing on her face whenever she chewed the bars. Her chewing habit stopped after that so I rewarded her with the doggie chew toy which she promptly made use of.

None of my hamsters like the toothbrush either but it does make their fur look nice.

Food is downstairs, house is upstairs. It's a double story cage If I take out the ladder, she'll start to climb and no way of going down except...dropping. It looks painful so I have no choice but to leave it there.

She starts to chew on plastic when I approach her...like she's stressed seeing me. Probably going
