V9!!! Thought of replying RyoKenzaki regarding the black hamsters he talking about, see see V9 already... Anyway, congrats!

RyoKenzaki

We are talking about black syrian, not WW or RC. Syrian black in color is rare in Malaysia. Hardly found.

No wonder you said you didn't get discount la. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif Those who walk in sure get some discount even not asking. That's my first expression to that shop.

QUOTE(StellaBabe @ Jul 2 2008, 11:55 PM)
I feed them with the normal staple foods + some snacks
that bought from pets shop. but feed more staple food la.. tongue.gif
Haha.. Just try to jokes with u all ma..  smile.gif
Cos he so fat.. n just like stolen food.. keke..
I posted the snacks photo here.. u can see la..
All bought from pet shop. (Cheras area)
Don't know is it got diabetes or obesity, can be so fat...  sweat.gif
First time i bring them back, both of them are chubby type,
already fat. n now even more fat...
*
Those don't look like healthy 'snacks' for hamsters. You don't know what's the ingredients inside as well as it's all self packed by the shop. Haven't found any pet shop who sell good hamster stuffs in Cheras so far, that's why always gotta make trip to Pet Shack. I think your hamster is obese rather than chubby as he get all these sugary intake in the snacks (choc crunch, honey stars, etc). They love those food as it's sweet and high sugar. It's not good for your hamsters, don't feed anymore. You can taste it if you dare, if you feel it's sweet then it's very very very sweet for hamsters cos their snack is not sweet at all. Blurjoey can prove that to you.

My goodness the petshop is doing self packaging and packing human cereal wif high sugar content plus with cocoa which can kill hamsters FOR hamsters. How can they be so cruel as to cheat people by selling this. Like making the owner pay for poison to kill your own pets.

blink.gif how come blurjoey eat before? So hungry need to eat hammie snack?
*
No la, hahaha.... doh.gif he just curious and wanna know how it is taste like for human as the yogurt drops we bought for our hamsters smell so nice. He tried for all kind of snack we got for the small fellas. He won't be that hungry until need to 'curi' hamster's snack la, full of human snacks at home, expensive snacks somemore... wink.gif

u don't be blame for adv, go snap a full pack photos n post up here. also i see ur hammi only eat guaji.. stop the guaji also its only contain FAT. also u keeping them in carrier? get a 1.5ft tank. its too small n no wheel.
*
That's the reason the hammy can grown so fat. WW easily get obese, correct me if I'm wrong.

Stellababe

If you can't get the correct things for your hammy, I willing to help you out, but please let us know your hammy's condition. All of us here are worried for your pets.

Go ahead with what you are thinking and what you insist to do, no one can stop you and but please DO NOT give any wrong information to other people here as you are not doing the correct thing. Good luck to your hammy and I feel sad for him/her as he/she never get anything good or best in all his/her life except those 'snacks' and rusted metal bars.

Singapore got ? hmmm...then mayb can try find it around Johor.......
I think there sure got the way to bring in,mayb can ask the pet shop to order or something....
*
That's not as easy like what you said, or else we already can get it in KL long time ago. If the hamsters can come into Malaysia from Singapore so easily, the hamsters can always travel up to KL, but so far we are still don't have any here. Singapore custom is very straight and getting tight after all the incidences. If pet shop willing to bring in, who willing to pay over RM100 or more for one hamster which are not young as they need quarantine for some time and the hamster already fully grown when they reach the pet shop. The hamsters will also get stress and might die during the quarantine due to no proper care. No one willing to pay for the died hamster with high price. Too many consequences to do that. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Hamster's food is even more expensive than human's food la. Prestige 1 pack RM22, you can finish it up within 2 days / 6 meals. So? Which food is cheaper. Better eat bread lor. Unless you mean your hamsters share human food with you to save budget then maybe cheaper.

Disturbing thread.... you guys should see what terrysoh in Garage Sales wrote in his sales thread....

Sigh! What a hamster seller or 'breeder' is that? He don't even know how to differentiate the sex of the hamsters. For me, all hamsters have their own look and you can differentiate them one by one, but he said he can't recognise which is which as they look all the same. I'm sure his hamsters all are not so tame as he said his hamsters 'don't like' when he hold them. doh.gif doh.gif

they import many show hamster into sg.
*
They do not import all show quality hamster but they produce and breed shoq quality hamsters and maintain the good line of the gene. That what make their hamsters so good in quality compare with the hamsters we get here. The quality here already 'koyak' due to messy breeding. Singapore have their own hamster show.

ok, i've decided to go with jtl's rm180 starter kit, thanks for the recommendation and advice guys thumbup.gif

oh yea, i'm thinking of buying bathing sand too, should i buy a container or something for the sand? unsure.gif

also, how do you actually train a hamster to use a litter pan? unsure.gif
http://www.petshack.com.my/webshaper/store...ProductItem=389
*
The package is good enough for your Syrian. thumbup.gif Syrian do not need bathing sand, just toilet sand will do. You can use a ceramic bowl / clay bowl for the toilet sand (the brown color bowl which shown in jtl's package). There's different between bathing sand and toilet sand as toilet sand is not as fine as bathing sand. The most important thing is the tank and the wheel which is at least 8 inches in diameter so Wodent wheel is the best for them. If you do not have very high budget, then get the plastic aquarium tank instead of stainless steel bar cage as I don't think there's any in the market as the cost is too expensive, can get ZooZone2 with the price already.

#Jayniel#

When we decided to get a bigger tank for JackJack, we are looking at ZooZOne1 also, but after compare the price, there's only a bit different and much bigger space, so ended up with ZooZone2. Luckily get ZooZone2 as JackJack now can jump so high, if ZooZone1 for him maybe he can escape already. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif Really make me sweat every time I heard him jumping 'dung, dung, dung' when he landed. rclxub.gif

Hmm, can we use normal bowl as hamster toilet?
Living World Polyresin Hamster Toilet costing RM30 i really cant afford ><
*
No need if you can't afford it. You can get the ceramic bowl / clay bowl (brown color) for it, it cost less than RM8 in KL and less than RM5 in Ipoh. The sand also not so easy to come out when they dig inside.

rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif Thanks for your good intention trying to make peace but really don't understand what you mean by all the 1-4 statements. Nothing to do with husband and wife here. Only hamsters and their owners. Only owner can be categorize in good and responsible or stubborn and irresponsible. A lot of silly and innocent people out there without knowledge but as long as the person willing to learn to be better, the person is responsible, the other way round is just irresponsible. Those who know himself is not right and yet refuse to accept advice and insist give wrong information to others is stu***. I know you wanna be good person here but please give some example or scenario which is compatible or suitable in simple language. I hardly understand what you trying to hint to us, maybe Jamien can help to elaborate as her English is much better than mine.

good day everyone, i keep my robo in habitrail mini but after a few wash on the wheel, the wheel seems not as tight as before or the rubber on top us loosen. It cause the wheel to sway when my hamster running on it. Sometime i see him run so fast than he flipped himself which i feel worry about. Also, this wheel has a empty space in btwn the covers (not sure how to put it but i also worry that he could hurt his feet). Not sure if anyone using Habitral Mini too and does the wheel has any problem like this? Should i be getting new ones? if so, probably those with 8" diameter would do?
*
Don't think a 8" wheel can fit into your Habitrail Mini. So far I didn't remember any 8" wheel can be attached to the Habitrail Mini. You can try to get the Habitrail Safari wheel if you wan. Last time my robos use Habitrail Safari wheel, both of them can run at the same time. But depends on your luck to get that as it already no more in production. Another problem is dunno whether can fix in Habitral Mini or not.

Wodent wheel? Sanko wheel also can what. But if he gonna to use both that wheel, means he gonna change the cage to tank already as Habitrail Mini can't fit both of it.

Stainless Steel is safe. Only wire mesh from Galvanised metal is poisonous.

Actually, I saw aluminum mesh before, RM14 for 1 meter....
Wah, so organized. Heheheh.... the tables you bought from Ikea....  I got the smaller one.

For Neshie, is either she use aluminum mesh or she get another storage box and cut the hole higher and smaller but vertical instead of horizontal.

That's blurjoey's doing for organizing the tanks. He's a very organized person.

I didn't know there is smaller version of the table sweat.gif

Yeah, you can. I got the smaller version of that clay bowl from Ipoh, but can't find it here. Maybe you can get glass bowl from Ikea, those use for candles. We bought 6 for RM8.90, so cheap and useful, to put their dry food and smoothie.

Found Kiko look so moody and 'merajuk'. Try to squeeze herself in between the bowl and the side of the tank, stay there and not move for long time.
