hmm.gif Well, generally, pregnant hamsters look fatter. when quite along the way you can see that the belly is bigger a lil, not exactly the body.

Err.. Jamien.. I have no idea how to let my syrian Hammie gain protein.. I tried feeding mealworms to her but she's afraid of it. Other than boiled egg white, any other options?

Boiled chicken? tau foo?

But generally I prefer mealies. Easy to get and feed and won't spoil since only need to keep alive. Have you tried cutting off the head and squeeze the juice out for your hammie?

My Roche likes to dip dip her mealies in smoothie. How about you try "flavoring" the mealies in the smoothie first?

All syrians love mealies la. For my Roche and Ferro, it was first love. laugh.gif

My Winter White hamster is wet with red color liquid on her genitals and tail. Its not exactly blood because the color is not very thick. Is she giving birth?

hmm.gif Do hamsters have period? When my robos give birth, there's only very very little bloodish stain on a few small pieces of shavings. And by the time I notice the stain, the babies are already out.

Hamsters do not have periods.... only a few animals bleed when on heat.... well, for one, that's dogs..... but for humans, we are not fertile when we get period while dogs are fertile during their heat. Hamsters just produce a scent to attract another hamster for mating during their heat.

As for bloody looking stains, it can be in labour.... but is it nesting? If it is not, it could be something else.

My friend's WW died from blood clotting in the rectum. It passed out blood from it's butt, then it was jelly like. The hamster then died from it.

Nice custom extension. But do becareful with the opening at the top of the wheel. Your hammy might be able to squeeze through. Just remember if the hamster head can go through then body have no problem going through also.
