and make sure the water bottle aint leaking.... to be safe, add another water bottle, jz in case the first one leaks.... and try put a bowl or somesort under the water bottle... jz incase it leaks, the water will be collected in the tray/bowl... wont wet the beddings....

when the female give birth, u separate the father lor... but in some cases, especially robos, the daddy would help n take care of the babies as well...
last time when my syrian hamster gave birth, the dad helped to take care of the babies... somehow a few days later i separated them because the father was too clumsy, alwiz disturb the female and make her angry...

same goes to my ww.... they sleep facing upwards when weather is too hot.... or they will lie flat on the floor....

Well, I did what you told me and she hardly makan also. I give one small chinese soup spoon of it, added two pieces of food and...

she only eat it when it's icy cold. Really need to give very little.

Yeah the rest of the day didn't eat. So now I put her usual dry food back...

no wander no touch.. just leave it over night. clean it next morning.

if ur hamster don't get use of spoon. he wouldn't eat oh.keep the dry food in the tank, remove water over night, put smoothie in over night.. see how.

I think you just take out both the bottle and the dry food. Leave nothing edible or drinkable but the smoothie in it (since the smoothie is both). Let her get used to it. She just never ate anything like smoothie before.

Both my syrians will not choose dry food or even water over the smoothie. In fact they like to dip dip their dry food in smoothie before they eat. They seem to like dry food which is soggy with smoothie. maybe it adds flavor to their dry food?

BTW my syrians now don't drink any water at all. They faithfully wait for their smoothie every night. I hang their water bttle foor 1 week and noticed that the water level never go down. I thought the bottle stuck so I change water and test it everday if the water can come out but the water didn't decrease in the next week either. Now they're totally dependant on smoothie liao. Spoiled la my syrians.

lol yes, if we put alot alot of fresh in. they don't drink also and always remember Nutri-Smoothie had NO WATER ADDED!! every lick is nutrition yummy!!

i hope the Omega 3 & 6 serial will be available this sunday in Pet Shack! will let u all know once its sent.

Great. And don't worry, she won't starve herself when she knows there's something edible (the smoothie) in the tank. No living thing can go against the instinct to survive. And it's a guarantee she'll come to love the smoothies so much you have to buy it all the time to re-stock!

@Nezu: I didn't say it was a bad thing! HAhaha... But I actually think your system is really good. Not only do you get a good owner for your babies, the waiting actually helps owners appreciate the hammie more right? But let's admit the waiting is actually pretty long.

Update on my 2 WW...
I think one of my WW is a girl !!! Cos one has very obvious 'bola' but the other doesn't. Omg? (The petshop guy @ CTY said they were both males...)

They sleep alot during the day, but as soon as you switch off the light, you can hear all sorts of sounds coming from the cage haha...dunno what they are doing inside =P
