Ohh, actually I googled and I found it's some kind of disease, which causes hamster to die young. So I wonder may be there's another meaning for this word, and I just got it from you. Thanks  tongue.gif

Albino is not a disease. The dying young part is another type of gene(ANOPTHALMIC WHITES), Eyeles and Teethless white die young,...... how come? Read....

Ok, got it. So albino refers to pure white? I got that definition from some websites, may be it's a misleading one.

I was told that chincilla sand is not that suitable, as it's too dusty for hamster. Well, correct me if I'm wrong.

Syrian... albino? Got 2 types of albino... so which one?....

Got Fleshed Eared White and Dark Eared White. Anyway, this can be found in  petshops that sell alot of syrian. I come across quite often.

I've seen lots of solid white with both kind of color ears in Ipoh before selling at RM7 and the uncle told me since I bought something from him, he can discount for me sweat.gif

Chinchilla sand is ok, Chinchilla dust is bad.

Cat litter can be used for toilet sand, not bathing sand and it has to be the non-clumping type.

The clumping ones are.... if you get those with additional perfume, dunno what chemicals to reduce smell.... those are dangerous.... so far Frisian non clumping cat litter is safe. I use non clumping cat litter, no animals have died loh.... I use for quite a long time already.

Why do not get clumping? Coz clumping cat litter is clay that will bind when wet. So if a hamster eats it, it can get stuck inside the intestines or throat or cheek pouches.

Choose cat litter that is said to be natural, has no chemicals or perfume

To be safe, do a proper seperation. You can reintro back after 2 months plus. I noticed that if a robo accepted a particular male as a mating partner, she will most likely accept him again.

BTW I've actually observed the daddy robo licking and taking care of the babies when the mummy's out eating and exercising. This happened sometimes. The daddy will go lick the kids and put the nest nicely before sleeping there.

It happened when the mummy robo gave birth in the plastic house and made her nest there. I didn't know she had babies cuz she didn't look pregnant and was active as usual when I interact with her. It was about a week later when the babies started crawling around that I knew. Ad I noticed the daddy taking care of the kids so I left him in.

blink.gif Wah, scary mum.

blush.gif Actually I would advise people to take out the wheel when their mummy hammies gave birth. but some of my robos are very attached to their wheel.

Like Fat Fat, she will become inactive and stressed when I remove the wheel. When she gave birth and I took out the wheel, she ignored her litter for hours. After I put back the wheel and she ran on it for 5 minutes, she went back to attend to her litter. sweat.gif

shocking.gif But I saw her ran on the wheel before with baby Ben still sucking on her nipple. She was running like normal and he was drinking like nothing is happening. That time I so panic. Wanna take out the wheel but it'll stress her. Scared I frighten her and dunno what will happen to baby Ben.

mega_shok.gif That was one of my most agonizing moments of owning robos...
