hmm, do they really come and climb on your hand? so far i have not achieve that... they will come and grab mealies from me, but never climb on my palm when i put the mealies in the middle of my palm

My Roche will. After she runs about an hour in the ball, if she managed to find my leg, she will try her best to follow me. She knows I give her mealies when I take her out of the ball.

She will climb out of her cage and look around my palm for some food when I take her out. Always smoothie and mealies will be available.

My Ferro... Sigh... Climb up on my hand, ignore all mealies, smoothies, fruits, vege, etc etc. Most important is find the exercise ball so he can pretend to be a house f;y by bouncing off the walls.

As in taming? Roche was already kinda tame when I brought her home. Se was bought from a breeder.

But I would say the same thing : Love = patience + sacrifice.

So if we love them we must be very patient when they don't respond and sacrifice the time we have for them. Of course bribing helps a lot.

Hamsters who have a lot of contact with people tend to get use to human contact. Plus whenever they are having human contact, reinforcing the experience with food makes it more enjoyable for them. Not only is human contact safe, it is "profitable" for them in the sense that they can get more delicious food.

Just my personal tip, stroking them softly works. Try to mimick the short spurts of grooming just like the way mummy hammies do to their pups. Hamsters like that.

Is it ok for me to let my hamster chew a dried corn cob. She chewed off the dried remains as expected and finally she stopped chewing metal or plastic...

but is it safe? I heard corn cob pellets give blockage in rabbits. hammy leh?

Hmm.. I wonder... My robos do not dare to get on my palm even I've been feeding them mealies with the same hand for over a month. Sigh

I never breed hamster, how do you mean stroke like mother hamster? I don't get it...

If you have the time you can try this method. Take out all the food from the hamster tank. When feeding time comes, put the food in the center of you palm and put your hand on the bedding. They will come. If not first day, 2nd or 3rd day also they will come. They will see your hand as a "source of food". Bonding can start later.

Robos are very timid so dont be disappointed they don't react quickly to you.

Mummy hamsters lic their babies... Hmmm... Kinda like mummy dogs cleaning their puppies?

The first method I tried few days already, in average of 2 hours a day, but that was at the beginning, at the day I first get them. But after that I'm worried they might be starved, so I gave up and give them food in bowl. After that I never try again.

Hamster got tongue? I never seen any before, except their fangs. Ummh, I tried to brush them with toothbrush, but end up running for life. Then I tried to use my hand to sayang them, sometimes they sit still, sometimes run for life also One thing I'm sure is, it's prohibited to rub their belly, or any lover than their agouti fur part, otherwise they'll run like hell. May be they feel itchy?

yay... bought new ww adi.... at first wanted a pure white one... but that one seems to be hyperactive and couldnt standstill... so, i bought this one... reasonably tame when i first approached her.... will sit still if u put her on the palm.... most important, looks chubby enough...



made some changes to the cage as well.... hope this can provide better air circulation into it so they wont get too hot during afternoon...

recently my robos urine very smelly... b4 tat it wont be tat smelly but dono y recently is like tat.

somemore i see them like losing appetite. alrd 1 day but they din seem finish their food for 1 day. (i dint put much for them to control their diet)
