Hi Pal, really appreciate and thanks for your review. Now i might go for the s2409W, just a last question. In ur cons list, u mention No 1:1 pixel mapping will that cause any issues?

With Stand installed
user posted image
Pros
*HDCP certification
*Tested no dead pixel
*No banding issue with colour
*Alot of settings for colours and input type
*Non native resolution still looks sharp
*Fast respond time no lag in gaming
*Quite acurate colour reproduction after tuning
*Able to select input type to component in (open possibility to use component to vga cable, from ps2, wii, xbox, dvd player etc)
*HDMI carries analog sound signal
*Sound input and output option
*Superb price for 1080p Full hd panel at 16x9
*Nice button layout and responsive keys
*Individual input saved menu setting each
*Free dvi and rgb cable
*Unoticeable backlight bleeding
*Vesa compliance can be mounted

Cons
*No 1.1 pixel mapping
*Mirror finish border dust magnet
*No component video input when it support it
*Base non pivoltable
*No HDMI cable included
*1920x1080 for pc gaming , need decent pc specs.

Conclusion
After testing this unit, i realise some tuning needed before u can start enjoying this panel. The preset
is really not up to my satisfactory comparing to my samsung 2232bw i owned, but once i set to custom
rgb colour everything just looks alright, brightness and contrast is well enough, still no samsung, lol
But it does have really fast response time being a tn panel, what really suprise me is there is hardly close to
no banding issue, and backlight bleeding on my received panel. Lucky me hhehehehe~
Going through everyday use on pc i have found 16x9 ratio actually more comfortable for me, because i tends to have
alot of media uses the ratio, hence fullscreen goodness. While on console end, i have a blast playing metal gear solid 4 in full hd,1080p glore
its very enjoyable, decent colors and brightness really makes it a ideal choice for those with limited budget for large lcdtv(3 for price of 1 in my country).
The Dell 2409W combines a stylish housing, and great features such as HDCP compatibility on its DVI port, component support on rgb/dvi port,
with very impressive image quality. It’s a combination that means that it wins my heart and should well deserve a award IMHO.

Pros
*Tested no dead pixel
*No banding issue with colour
*Alot of settings for colours and input type
*Non native resolution still looks sharp
*Fast respond time no lag in gaming
*Quite acurate colour reproduction after tuning
*Able to select input type to component in (open possibility to use component to vga cable, from ps2, wii, xbox, dvd player etc)
*HDMI carries analog sound signal
*Sound input and output option
*Superb price for 1080p Full hd panel at 16x9
*Nice button layout and responsive keys
*Individual input saved menu setting each
*Free dvi and rgb cable
*Unoticeable backlight bleeding

Hwoarang45,

thx for the review..so i wonder, with my RM1200 budget, and the usage of gaming and HD movies, should i go for

- Dell S2409W 24" + 5 years warranty = RM1159

OR

- Samsung T220 22" that comes with high contrast ratio = RM1200 (approximately)

i bought dell 22" online before, and i can say that i am satisfied with the Dell online trading system..took only 3 days after the payment has been made, and no additional charge for delivery, plus i can extend the warranty..

but still, this T220 is nice, but S2409W isnt bad either hmm.gif

so the 16:10 lcd monitor will be phased out with all the new 16:9 lcd monitor ? I think 16:10 is better cause bigger provided the lcd got 1:1 pixel mapping.

not really most pc monitor will still make 16x10 as there is pro and cons to it, as for having 1.1 pixel mapping, tats have to depends running non native some lcd have terrible blurry scalling ,

yeah im sure , first i taught got , cause some member in other forum mention it , after browsing through the menu, the option is missing.
i tried 800x600, it still scale to fullscreen so no luck , but to be frank i dont see a point in having it, cause unlikely u are running 4x3 ratio or 16x10 resolution on this, right~

well no really unless u plan to run 4x3 ratio resolution and dont wanna fullscreen scale, etc DOTA( if there are still people playing) in 4x3 instead of wide
for me ,all my games and console are in 16x9 wide, so i have no problem, actually i feel if u have a 16x10 ratio lcd this function is more usefull when scale with black bar for 16x9 inputs.
hopes this helps

its sharper and more detail than my 1080i 32 incher lcdtv, way sharper at 1080p. most noticable is tekken 6 HD online, like different resolution of the same game, lol
buy lcdtv can have more inputs and can set analog tv station, but this s2409w is the cheapest 16x9 FULL HD lcd around with hdmi, so its kindda depends on ur use, for me, pc gaming, next gen console and HD movie, its perfect for me when i live on the move, sometimes kl some times ipoh, in small room.

thanks, yup i have the same budget at first, i was deciding on benq but end up limited budget and wanna spend more on blueray disc instead, so i go for dell , + 5 year warranty, its so worth it, never regreted since then.
as i said i cant help u make ur decision on buying, but atleast kasi wat u gonna expect on it, depends on ur usage, 22 incher 16x10 at 1680x1050 or 24 incher 16x9 1920x1080 res. smile.gif

always test first which suits ur taste in performance dont decides on paper written specs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
More 1080p blueray shots via ps3, batman dark knight imax prologue found on my batman begin BD disc.
drool.gif drool.gif cant wait for Dark knight BD to be available..

for those who worry about the scaling, if you are using nvidia gpu, you can change the scaling through the control center.

but i cant get mine to work though. for some reason, the settings cant be saved. sad.gif

mine works nicely using latest driver for my 8800gt, but i found better uninstall clean and use reg driver cleaner and restart then install driver ta scale function works better,
hardly need it though scale 4x3 on a widescreen looks so tiny. cry.gif

it seems that there is a 'workaround' for it:
1. First switch your resolution to the resolution of the game you want to play. (Desktop will become blur bcoz it is stretched!)
2. The go to the nvidia control panel and select "Use Nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio)
3. Click apply!
